JVG will probably win Coach of the Year, since the award is based on team's improvement from the year before. For this reason, Avery won't win it. (as unfair as that may seem)

If they vote on coach of the year before the finals then JVG has a shot. If they vote on it after the finals and Dallas actually wins the championship then Avery will take it.

They give this award considering only the regular season.
