Francis gets T'd up in PRACTICE (Merged)
Quote:
Rockets guard Steve Francis on Monday had the unusual experience of getting a technical foul in a practice.
With the Rockets playing with game-like conditions on the main Toyota Center court, Francis drew a technical foul in the fourth quarter.
"I did it on purpose; I got a call after that," Francis said. "I told him they were cheating for Yao (Ming) and Tracy (McGrady), so he got mad at me."
McGrady countered with: "Steve always thinks that. He thinks we get all the calls.
"That whole team should have been T'd up today."
Rockets coach Rick Adelman said Francis deserved the technical foul, and wants the complaining to the officials to stop.

"The officials weren't the reason for 40 turnovers (in the practice)," Adelman said. "If that's the way you're going to do it, they're going to keep going at you and putting the screws to you."

Re: Francis gets T'd up in PRACTICE
This isn't good. He is showing his hot head again. Well, at the optimistic way, he loves the game very much. I think he got a good friendship with Yao and Cos. He is maybe just making news for himself.

Re: Francis gets T'd up in PRACTICE
This sounds more like a joke to me. "Steve always thinks that."
Not saying he's not hot-headed, but I don't think you'll see any problems coming out of this.

Re: Francis gets T'd up in PRACTICE
I think this article is a joke more to the chemistry of the team growing, rather than a serious article about a tech foul in a scrimmage game between two squads of the same team. I think we are taking it out of context.

I don't know.. sounds like things are getting competitive out there.

Heated practices
The Rockets have gone so long between games, competing instead against one another, they have begun to develop a rivalry between the team in white and team in black.
"We've got guys going at each other, a couple fights, couple arguments," Tracy McGrady said. "That was what I expected."
McGrady would not elaborate on whether fights became physical or remained verbal. But players said the games have been taken as seriously as real games.
"It gets very heated," Mike James said. "We're not playing out there. It's not a joke."

Re: Francis gets T'd up in PRACTICE
All you have to do is switch up the teams everyday.

Re: Francis gets T'd up in PRACTICE
i dont mind that much. this team has lacked a certain toughness and intensity for a couple years.
a little fire should do this team some good.

Remember Adelman is trying to build a rotation and see who plays better with who, so he can't change the teams every day. He has to grow chemistry between the players.

Re: Francis gets T'd up in PRACTICE
I like what I'm seeing. The competition in the backcourt has lit a fire under this team. Guys like McGrady, Yao and Francis are ready to win, while guys like Alston and Wells are trying to prove they belong on the court. I like this a lot.
