Re: Power Ranking: Rockets #1
I would have put the top 5 like this.
Lakers
Spurs
Pistons
Celtics
Rockets
PS: Lakers are looking unstoppable at the moment.
PPS: no way are we first.

Re: Power Ranking: Rockets #1
intelitext or whatever they call it is ticking me off...
Dang thing keeps popping up as I scroll.. commercialism is ruining this site...
okay to comment on the actual thread, I don't know if we are truly number one, but if the power rankings are dependent upon "what have you done for me lately" then Rockets should be #1 and Lakers #2. Both teams are red smoking hot.
Though I would say other than a couple of games after the all star break the pistons are smoking too. They had a 10 game win streak to get to the break and then stomped on the Suns and Nuggets this week.
In ability I would say...
Lakers, Pistons, Celtics, Rockets, Spurs.

What winning streak have the Lakers had this season?
ESPN has the Rockets @ #5, because we've only played 4 "good" teams

The Rockets are two home W's away from a perfect February. And I'm sure they'll apologize for the fact that they've faced only four winning teams in an 11-0 month as soon as they get higher than seventh in the West.

No its because they have been taking advantage of playing crappy teams like we have. But they do look good stomping on the competition.
It's something I wish the Rockets would do more often. Take a lead and then just blow someone out.
Though its been nice to have our victory cigars get to play the last couple minutes of the last couple of games.

Re: Power Ranking: Rockets #1
my thoughts exactly.....

In the Western Conference, the Wizards would be getting ready for the draft lottery. New Orleans entered Monday's game with a record of 37-17, the best mark through 54 games in franchise history yet were in third place and only 4 1/2 games ahead of ninth-place Denver (33-22).
The pressure to keep pace with the teams in the West led the Hornets to trade valuable backup point guard Bobby Jackson to Houston last Thursday for guards Bonzi Wells and Mike James.
Meantime, the situation in the East has made it easier for Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas to take his time while recovering from left knee surgery.
"Even though we've struggled lately, we're still right there in sixth," Arenas said. "As long as we can get some wins here and there we'll be right where we want to be."
No timetable has been set for Arenas's return, but he made the trip with the team and was working out prior to Monday's game by playing a game of one-on-one with rookie Nick Young. . . .
