NJIT matches last season's record
NJIT's Men's Basketball team falls to 0-13 after a 55-65 defeat to Rutgers matching their last seasons longest losing streak record.
The game that was played at the Prudential Center in Newark attracted 1724 fans which is a record high number (home game) since it turned D1. The away game fans record remains at 8655 which was set in Seattle against U of Washington earlier on this year in the NIT Tip-off tournament.
NJIT managed to limit turnovers to just 15 in this game and lost by only 10 points to its Big-East opponent. RPI value improved slightly after the game.
The NJIT Highlanders' front-court out-scored and out-rebounded the Scarlet Raiders' front-court 41-30 (score) and 28-26 (rebounds) respectively. But the 4 freshmen back-court was outplayed by their opponents 14-35 (score) and 7-15 (rebounds).
Keep up the good effort and start winning some games, Highlanders....
