I thought about posting in this thread, but I couldn't find it at first and then forgot.
Miami 40-14 .741
Detroit 32-19 .627 6 ½
Boston 27-26 .509 12 ½
Cleveland 30-21 .588 8 ½
Washington 30-22 .577 9
Orlando 28-24 .538 11
Chicago 26-23 .531 11 ½
Philadelphia 26-27 .491 13 ½
Indiana 25-26 .490 13 ½
New Jersey 23-30 .434 16 ½
I Included NJ because we need to watch out for them. I can't believe that at one game under .500, we're still out of the playoffs. Our winning percentage is only .01 behind Philadelphia, so that's great, we're only 2 games behind Chicago, and 2 1/2 games behind Orlando. If we could go on a nice 5 game winning streak, we could easily get the #6 seed, and keep working on Washington and Cleveland.

Re: Central Division Outlook
The Eastern Conference has really tightened up, and teams are actually starting to win some games. Who knows maybe there won't be a playoff team from the Eastern Conference under 500.
I'm a dreamer.

Re: Central Division Outlook
Looking at the Eastern teams, I break the teams down like this.
Locked to make the playoffs
Miami 40-14 .741
Detroit 32-19 .627 6 ½
Boston 27-26 .509 12 ½
Cleveland 30-21 .588 8 ½
Washington 30-22 .577 9
The rest
Orlando 28-24 .538 11
Chicago 26-23 .531 11 ½
Philadelphia 26-27 .491 13 ½
Indiana 25-26 .490 13 ½
New Jersey 23-30 .434 16 ½
Obviously, we can all say no one is locked. If Shaq went down with a season ending injury, Miami would look pretty bad. The same thing can be said about Boston and Cavs. I really dont' believe the Cavs can go without James leading. Anyhow that is not important.
Lets look at "the rest".
Those five teams are fighting for the last three spots. It's not going to be a fun fight particularly the 8th spot. If somehow Indiana could put together a 6-7 game winning straight, they would separate themselves. Unfortunately, Chicago, Phily, NY and Orlando could do it too.
Of those five teams, I expect Chicago to make it. I would be suprised if Indiana didn't with their talented roster. That leaves one spot for Orlando, Philly and NJ.

Intresting analysis but I don't think Boston is a lock to make the playoffs by any stretch of the imagination. Philly is right behind them, and with a nice litlte winning streak, they can knock Boston right out of the playoff picture.

Sorry. I agree. In that division, anything is possible. Looking at the last few games, Philly and NJ seem to have played very well. That's a nice battle. If i had to pick, i would choose Philly. They have AI, more so, he is having an awesome season.

That would still be a tough series for us.
AI would be huge come the playoffs.
