Concern grows for O'Neal

"There's no official word yet, but I'm starting to be afraid this is more serious than we hoped," Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said Thursday.
O'Neal has spent most of the week in Los Angeles, visiting doctors and getting extra opinions on his right shoulder. Carlisle doesn't know whether O'Neal will need surgery. If he does, O'Neal's already shortened season likely would be over.
O'Neal sprained his shoulder while attempting a dunk late in the first half of the March 3 game at Denver. The Pacers put him on the injured list the next day, meaning the earliest he could return is Wednesday against Utah.
O'Neal quit wearing a sling just days after the injury but favored the shoulder while walking around Staples Center in Los Angeles.

I really don't care if Jermaine is out for the rest of the season; this seson sucks, and we just need to get through it and make it to next season.

This season has been a very interesting one. One plus is that we've seen every player on our team (except John Edwards) well enough to scout them.

I want Jermaine back...we at least have a shot with him. If O'neal is out though, do you think Stern would be more lenient in letting Artest back?

Well, I dunno. I'd like to see how far our small ball game can get us. All of the pressure is on Reggie and sjax now, and I've got no problem having them make or break our season...especially reggie. Like I've said....if Reggie's last season isn't one that ends in a ring, i at least want it to end with him carrying the team on his shoulders trying to make a miracle out of a terrible situation.

We have a tough stretch of games coming up.
March 23rd vs San Antonio
March 25 @ Detroit
March 26 @ Chicago
March 28 @ Milwakee
March 31st vs Miami
April 3rd @ Washington
We are really going to need JO in the lineup for these games if we want to get into the playoffs.
