BOSTON -- Indiana Pacers forward Jermaine O'Neal doesn't want to continue talking about his injured right shoulder. But he couldn't help but discuss it after Tuesday's 90-85 victory over the Boston Celtics.
"The doctor came up to the hotel (Tuesday) and said my arm is getting stronger," O'Neal said. "I'm going to the basket stronger with it now. I don't have to go into shots with two hands anymore."
O'Neal, who has struggled from the field throughout the series, had 19 points and 10 rebounds.
O'Neal said he is not shying from using his right hand when attacking the basket, and he now is able to hold off the defender with both hands.
"That's what it's about," he said. "In order for us to be a good team, I have to be able to get more output. Even if I'm not scoring, I have to be able to do things on defense."
O'Neal said it didn't seem like the Celtics were purposely going after his shoulder.
"I heard (coach) Doc Rivers tell (Al Jefferson) to bang me and keep a body on me," O'Neal said. "That's the way it's going to be. I'm built for this now that I'm healthier. What's going to happen is I'm going to get rhythm and it's going to be hell to pay."
