Detroit has made cutting off Jamaal Tinsley's penetration one of its defensive priorities. So far, it hasn't had much success.
Tinsley totaled 18 assists and two turnovers in the Pacers' victories in Games 2 and 3, and has been the major reason they outscored the Pistons in the paint in those games 66-40.
"Just creating," he said.
Tinsley's ability to get into the lane is a bit of a mystery, because he doesn't appear to be one of the quicker guards in the NBA. Coach Rick Carlisle believes he's quicker than he looks, but Tinsley also has other ways of getting where he wants to go.
"It's positioning and angles," he said. "The penetrating I get is by moving laterally and putting pressure on them with my ball skills."

We all know how important his penetration is for this team's success, we pointed that out at the beginning of the series. He seems to be very confident with what he is doing, and so far Detroit hasn't been able to stop it. Hopefully today he can lead us to another victory with his penetrating and dishing.
