Which Young Pacers have Star Potential?
Quote:
|
Q. When watching basketball, I look at all the players to see what players have the ability to be great if they stepped up their game. When I looked at Jeff Foster, I thought he could become a spitting image of a Ben Wallace type of player. They both are relentless on the boards, they both can score if they have to but prefer to be defensive players. And, if Foster works on his shot-blocking ability and is consistent like he was in the playoffs, I think Foster could become the next Wallace. Do you see any players on this team who, if they stepped up their games, could become great, and what do they need to work on to become that?

I'm really counting on Harrison to step up his game this summer and come out at the start next season being a backup center...

They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul! Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers!" Can I get an amen? Can I get a hallelujah? Thank you Jesus.

Re: Which Young Pacers have Star Potential?
I doubt any one of our youth becomes a star, but Harrison, JJ, and Freddie should all make capable backups for the Pacers or starters for another team. With Tinsley/Jackson/Artest/JO/Foster as a starting 5, we'll be solid for at least another 5 years, so there's no reason to worry if we have a star rotting on the bench.

For me, it's David Harrison. It think he has mad potential. If he's able to learn how or gain the ability to receive passes better, I see him as a top 3-5 center in the league.

Re: Which Young Pacers have Star Potential?
3.10 RPG in 17 minutes isn't bad for a rookie. 3.10 fouls per game is though.

Agreed. But, looking at those stats, as long as he stays out of foul trouble, he'll be a fine rebounder.

That translates to 6.2 rebounds in 34 minutes. Since stats are usually inflated by doubling the minutes, we can safely assume that David Harrison, if starting, would average 5 rebounds in 34 minutes. He really needs to learn to box out and move his fat *** around the court.

Re: Which Young Pacers have Star Potential?
As others of said, none of them will become stars, but that's OK, because a team only needs two stars and we already have them.

Its a TERRIBLE statistic, especially when it comes to fat foul plagued big men.I am a Knick fan and if you look at Sweetneys stats per 48 minutes, hes at least as good as brand. The problem is,it takes him 2 #$%^ing games to play 48 minutes as he is always in foul trouble...

Re: Which Young Pacers have Star Potential?
I definetly think it will be my man Fred Jones, he is easily 1 of the most athletic ballers in the league, and he can also play PG (when needed)...
I've always liked him and last season I saw alot of improvements in his game (pre injuries)..
His 3 point J. was looking mad sweet, and his ability 2 create his own shots is vastly improving...
I have all the confidence in the world that my man Freddy is gonna have a breakout year, and should challenge 4 the best 6th. man in the league....
I also love my boy "Baby J." aka James Jones, I love his incredible range, and he was really picking up his D. towards the end of the season...
So I wish our Jones Duo alot of luck, and I just know they'll both be hotter than the Suns come Nov.
