Q. I was wondering if Reggie leads the NBA in four-point plays? (Eduardo in Ingleside, TX)
A. It would follow that the player who ranks as the NBA's all-time leader in 3-point field goals would also stand atop the list in terms of four-point plays, and that Reggie does, thanks in part to his trademark move of kicking his leg out while shooting in hopes of drawing contact from an oncoming defender. In fact, no one else is even close. Reggie had 24 in his career, 23 during the regular season, well ahead of second-place Dirk Nowitzki (14), the only active player among the top four. Michael Adams (11) and Mitch Richmond (10) follow. Because of his relative youth (age 27), Nowitzki would appear to be the only guy in the league with a chance of surpassing Reggie's unusual record – assuming he plays long enough.
