Artest on the trading block?

Quote:
Danny Granger, F (No. 17, Pacers): He slipped a little in the draft, but as a solid scorer and rebounder, he should work well playing alongside Jermaine O'Neal. He may play the same position as Ron Artest, but Indiana is looking to move him.

Those rumors will always be there until Artest proves he can change his attitude..

Re: Artest on the trading block?

Artest isn't going anywhere, and if he does the Pacers aren't title contenders anymore IMO.

Re: Artest on the trading block?

Based on what I saw last season, I think the Pacers can go places without Artest, provided Granger fills in for him effectively (which is a long shot this season, but maybe not long term). I also wouldn't rule out the possibility that some Indy media/fans might have turned on him after Auburn, and that he secretly wants out as a result (I'm just speculating, that's not a substantiated rumor).

Re: Artest on the trading block?

How many times does Walsh and Bird have to say that Artest isnt going anywhere? Artest is too valuable to the Pacers to trade him...Even if they do trade him you will always get the short end of the stick....No one will be more focused than Artest in the league next year...he is going to have the best season of his career....

Re: Artest on the trading block?

Artest won't be traded, simply because the Pacers won't get a fair value in return. Beside, how can you trade a player like Artest? he freakin' broke Michael Jordan 2 ribs!

"I'm going to be one of the best. Nobody's stronger than me. Nobody can really stop me at my position. I can play point guard through (power forward) effectively. And I can shoot the ball and play defense. I have one of the most complete games in the league." -- Ron Artest, the man, the legend.

Ron Artest says: "He's still Michael Jordan. But I broke two of his ribs!!"

"They better not put me in the All-Star Game. I won't shoot, but I'll dominate that easy game. I'll be playing hard defense. I'll be foulin'. I'll be flagrant fouling. Everyone will be like, 'What are you doing?'" -- Ron Artest.

No way Artest gets traded IMO. That would be a huge step back for the Pacers, no matter who they get in return.

Re: Artest on the trading block?

Ron Artest isn't going anywhere. I know at one point last year, JO was frusterated with him, but I know that's over with...the bottom line is that everybody wants him back next year, including Donnie and Bird...so it's a moot point. Unless someone like KG is involved in the trade, no way do the Pacers send Ronny anywhere.

Re: Artest on the trading block?

I think that Artest will always be on the trading block since the incident on Nov.19. He is a great player and will always have rumors just like any other player. In my opinion, I think that Ron will stay with Rick Carsile and company for a couple more years pending on his attitude.
