With Danny Granger the Pacers have quite a good team. The question is can they go past the Eastern Confrence Finals. Being stopped by the Pistons the last two years. Obviously the Pistons are falling apart with the troubles of Larry Brown. The Heat are losing ground since Shaq and Alonzo are getting older. The Cavs have been in the playoff race the last two years and no one is helping LeBron. So this leaves the Pacers with an oppurtunity to succed and become the Beast of the East again.
The Heat are still going to be tough. Even though Shaq is getting older, and probably won't be 100% healthy every game this year, they still have Dywnae Wade who is a very good player and could go for an average of at least 20+ ppg.

And I begged, "Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?" And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots! You see, Reverend Maynard, tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust." And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat like the tears of one million terrified brothers and roared, "Hear me now, I have seen the light! They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul! Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers!" Can I get an amen? Can I get a hallelujah? Thank you Jesus.
Detroit is still going to be a very tough team to get by, Larry Brown or not. If they are knocked out, then we'd have to face Shaq and Wade. We couldn't stop Wade as a rookie when he had no Shaq, so how are we supposed to stop both, while they also have good role players?
With Granger in the mix, and Artest back in action this team is going to be very dangerous. Now they have arguably the best starting lineup in basketball, with a very deep bench. There is a lot of talent on this team, and it seems as though every player knows their role, and understands what it takes to win. I think the Pacers will have the most wins in the NBA next season, just ahead of San Antonio. I think this will finally be Indiana's year where they get by the Pistons.
I hate to rehash "the brawl"... but the thing about that night that really bothers me more than anything is we were pounding the Pistons... I mean straight up kicking their a**..
I think 2006 will be our year to finally get by Detroit...

My role just isn’t to score, I can do a lot of other things to affect the game. A lot of players, if they’re not scoring, they’re not really making their presence known on the court. I can do that."
Danny Granger - The next big thing to hit the NBA.

I agree. That's why B. Wallace started it to begin with.

Brad Miller would have helped immensely in 04 because he would unclog the lane for Jermaine to go to work. Still, I know we would have won it in 05 with a full strength team, and that gives me confidence for 06.

I agree 200%, back then I was really upset to see him go but now that I think about it I'm glad he's gone, cause not only is he everything PacersFan said, but he's also very soft and injury prone as well.
