By improbable I assume Bird means more than the MLE. No one in the league but Indiana would sign JJ to the MLE, so we'll be safe.

Yes i assumed as much, James Jones really came on strong toward the end of the year and proved given the minutes, can really stroke it when he has a rythm going. He is really not afraid to take some big shots. You certainly dont wont to let him go and have him beat you on another team. As the Pacers always do , they are going to be able to sign him back at a bargain price and watch his stock soar and he will just get better from here.

I think Larry Bird is lying. If he gets an offer sheet for three million dollars a year, why would we match it, when he'll probably end up on the end of the bench behind all the depth we have at the wing positions? I loved the way he stepped up in the playoffs, but when he looks at the players ahead of him I doubt he wants to stay in Indiana at all.

I think it all hinges on where Saras decided to go. I think the Pacers are waiting to see what happen on that front first. If he does go ahead and sign with the Cavs. I look for Larry to move quickly to resign Dale and James Jones if possible, to avoid getting the price raised on them. I am sure as the weeks go on and teams get more desperate they will start throwing more money at the likes of a James Jones.

The last time New Orleans tried to sign a SF that was RFA, the offer got matched and they were left with nothing. Morris Peterson. They might not want to go through that and be left with nothing at the SF spot yet again.
