Player Expectations: David Harrison

As it turns out, Pacers management proved me wrong last year when I called David Harrison a bust before he even put on a uniform. He's become our best post scorer (2nd if Jermaine will go in there) and one of our best shot blockers, although inconsistent. He has a good game within 10 feet, but everything outside of that is terrible. He definately needs to work on handling the ball, rebounding, not fouling, defense besides shot blocking, confidence, and simply learning to play with the team. His work ethic was questioned during the draft, which is why he fell so far, and he doesn't seem in-shape. Although his work ethic is better than expected, it could just be his fatness causing this. A lot of people have him as our 2nd Center, but Rick Carlisle might make him work from 3rd string just like most youngsters. This year, he should be more consistent and hopefully can play in a few major games, because if Jermaine won't score inside, he's the only other big man who can.

David Harrison's 2004-2005 stats:

43 games played
14 games started
18 minutes per game
6.1 ppg

1.28 bpg
57.6% on FG's
0.00% on 3's
57.1% on FT's

3.1 fpg

David Harrison's Projected 2005-2006 stats:

70 games played
4 games started
14 minutes per game
6.7 ppg
2.9 rpg
.2 apg
.19 spg
1.67 bpg
53.1% on FG's
0.00% on 3's
56.43% on FT's
1.11 topg
2.62 fpg

Re: Player Expectations: David Harrison

Huge expections for him. I expect with a year under his belt he'll be more apt to catch Tinsley's passes, thus leading to him nearly dominating for stretches.
