Seems we still do that with Bender.
Can't assume anything about Tins. Game 40 or 45 he comes up either mysteriously injured or just plain benched.

He didn't "earn" his bench time, he earned his way off the bench due to Anderson's injury and his subsequent kick azz play. Last season is the only year that Tinsley missed a lot of time due to injury. Prior to last year he was more dependable than Artest when it came to injury. People forget that Ron missed a good chunk of time when he was still in Chicago.
Add in Ron's suspensions and IGNORE last year (where Ron was gone more than Tins) and Tinsley played more games per season than Ron the prior 3 seasons (01-02 to 03-04), and this is including Tinsley's bench time during Rick's first season.
80 73 52 = 68.3
55 69 73 = 65.6
In Ron's first 2 years he played 72 and 76, so he still lacks an 80 game season even like Tinsley has. Adding those 2 seasons into his total he still only has averaged 69 games per season. The numbers don't look better if you add in the 40 for Tins and the 7 for Ron.
Tins has been hurt during one playoff series (the 04 ECF) and was still recovering during last years 2nd round. That's the main reason why people associate him with injuries. And some of his missed time in that 52 game year was at least 3 games off for a death in the family (was it his mom? I forget now) and 3 others were for personal reasons that might have been related to a family health issue (like person very ill in the family).
Between those 6 games and the list of DNP-CD (or IR to hold roster at 12 guys the coach will actually play) Tins probably only missed 5-6 games due to actual injury that year too.
