Player Expectations: Jermaine O'Neal
Most of what I'd like to say about Jermaine O'Neal everyone has already read from me. Things such as how he needs to use his post game instead of taking jumpers and being an overall more aggressive player. O'Neal is still going to be our #1 option, so he needs to be more reliable and consistent. His rebounding could also use some improvement, but that comes with him not taking as many jumpshots and being more aggressive.
Jermaine O'Neal's 2004-2005 stats:
44 games played
41 games started
34.8 minutes per game
24.3 ppg
8.8 rpg
1.9 apg
.57 spg
2.0 bpg
45.2% on FG's
16.7% on 3's
75.4% on FT's
2.98 topg
3.9 fpg
Jermaine O'Neal's Projected 2005-2006 stats:
80 games played
80 games started
37.3 minutes per game
23.7 ppg
9.1 rpg
2.3 apg
.67 spg
2.3 bpg
46.7% on FG's
12.3% on 3's
74.9% on FT's
2.7 topg
3.3 fpg

Looks good Pacers Fan, that's about the same stats I think he will average, although his PPG could be a little higher, say maybe 25.7....
Go PaCeRs!!!!!!!!!

Jermaine could average 25-26 ppg on some teams, but not the Pacers. We have too many other options for Jermaine to just get the ball on every possession and try to score.

Re: Player Expectations: Jermaine O'Neal
I agree pretty much with your stats but I don't think that he will play 80 games. He will probaly have some little injuries and play about 65-75 games.

Jermaine doesn't have injuries that are bothering him which will keep him out of games. There's always a chance that he'll get a fluke injury like the last two years (hyperextended knee, shoulder) and miss half the season, but besides a normal sprained ankle or broken finger, he's not going to miss many games.

I hope he will block more shots and have better FG% and stay healthy ( 80 games? I don't think so, but 75 would be fine.)

Well I thought he always misses about 5 games a season.
Anyone has some stats about the games he missed in his seasons at the Pacers?

00-01: Missed one game, didn't start two
01-02: Missed eight, didn't start eight
02-03: Missed five, didn't start six
03-04: Missed six, didn't start six
Average of those seasons: 77 games played, or five missed.

I couldn't agree more... JO needs to stay in the post more... and his numbers will go up.

I'm not worried about JO at all, he'll be on a rampage.
