Former Pacers players: who would you want back?
This should stir up some good discussion. If you could take any former Pacer player in his prime and have him join this squad, who would you want and why? How could he help this team? To keep it interesting, let's leave Reggie out of this.
For me, I guess I'd go with the Dunkin' Dutchman, Rik Smits. Even though I've already stated on this forum that I think our need for an offensive-minded Center is overplayed, I think Rik's game could really help this team. He had a decent range for a big man, and he could definitely free up some space for JO inside. I still remember that crazy game winner against Orlando he had. He was sporting the ugly mustached then.

I would take Smits also S-JaX, in his prime he was definetly an all-star, if I could pick some 1 else it would be my man Mark Jackson, I just loved his intensity and his love for the game, not to mention all his dancing.... ....
Go PaCeRs!!!!!

Jalen........j/k
Rik Smits in his prime was the first thing I thought of. Other guy I like is Brad Miller. Someone tall to complement JO.

The Rifleman, always like him, well we have him on our bench anyway, just not as a player :-). Or maybe even Brad Miller.

I was at that game... at that time... I was about 12 or 13 years old... and I was a HUGE Shaq fan... I wore an entire Orlando Magic uniform to the game... and I was getting cussed out by old men on my way into MSA... I believe that was the first day that I started to become a Pacer fan... I was still a Shaq fan for about 2 more years... one year of not caring about the NBA... and then Jermaine came... and I became a full-blown Pacer fan... now it is not just about Jermaine... It is the love of my home team!
I would also prolly go with Smits... or maybe Mel Daniels... I don't know how Mel would have been able to handle the Center spot in this day in age... I believe he was only 6'9"... but I would pick a different Center for us... I think it is the overall weakest spot in our starting line-up... well... offensively anway... Jeff is still the man though!

Jalen Rose. He played some of his basketball alongside Reggie Miller. It's really unfortunate he's not even come close to going that far in the playoffs since.

Derrick McKey. At this point, we don't need a star, and McKey's tough defense off the bench would be great.

Just a reminder: in the first post, I stated "to keep this interesting, let's leave Reggie Miller out of this."
