SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Jermaine O'Neal returned for the Indiana Pacers' game at Sacramento on Sunday, but Jamaal Tinsley remained on the inactive list.
O'Neal, who had missed the three previous games with pneumonia, came off the bench. Coach Rick Carlisle planned to "play it by ear" to determine how long O'Neal played.
Tinsley, who has missed the past five games with a torn biceps muscle, is not expected to play until Wednesday's game against Milwaukee at Conseco Fieldhouse, at the earliest.
Tinsley put on practice gear and ran from sideline to sideline before the game, but he has not practiced since suffering his injury in the loss at San Antonio on Dec. 27.
"He's doing better," Carlisle said. "I'm pretty certain he'll be out (tonight in Los Angeles against the Lakers) as well."
The Pacers play five games this week. After returning home from Los Angeles and playing Milwaukee on Wednesday, they play Washington at the Fieldhouse on Friday and at Chicago on Saturday.
