Well...not now. I was hoping for a miracle deadline deal. But with JO already signed to a GINORMOUS contract, it's probably better to not have any other big deals on the books for now.
If we resign Peja, we're basically looking at going to war with JO/Peja/Granger/Harrison plus some collection of SJax/Tinsley/AJ/Sarunas/Foster for the next 3-4 years. I'm really not sure that's enough to beat a San Antonio team built around Duncan/Manu/Parker or the Detroit Five, once they re-sign Big Ben.
And with the young'ns of The Gift and The Hulk emerging, we've got a couple of cheap, productive guys for the next few years. And thankfully, SJax, Sarunas and (if ever healthy again) Tinsley all have reasonable contracts, so they are somewhat tradable commodities.
But I really don't think a team built on JO/Peja/SJax is gonna win a title. I'd much rather let Peja walk, clear some cap room by dealing Jackson, TinCup (if we can at this point) or Foster for some expiring contract to gear up for the amazing free agent class of '07 when Lebron, DWade, Chauncey, Bosh, Carmelo, Kirk Hinrich, TJ Ford, Josh Howard, Pietrus, Kaman, Boris Diaw (Dirk, Paul Pierce, Vince Carter and Rashad Lewis all could likely opt out of player options and be free agents too).
Raise your hand if you think JO/Peja can win a title.

Not sure about yall, but the the Eastern Conference Finals just doesn't do it for me anymore. Let Peja walk.
