Question What are the Pacers missing?

They're obviously a great team, and were ranked very highly at the begining of the season. I personally thing that Artest was a better fit here than Peja is, but I think Peja thearetically SHOULD be better here than he was in Sac. Because if you notice, he was shooting better when he had a good big man to take some of the pressure and kick it back out to him. When he had Webber, he had more open shots. Jermaine is much better IMO than Webber is or ever was, so he should get some easy open looks with Jermaine.

Artest was a great defensive option, and could score if needed. But I think he was too much of a distraction to help this team go to the next level. Granger is a nice addition to the team, and I like the way he's developing. This team can, and probably will be very good in the near future. What do YOU guys think is the missing piece of the puzzle?

I have never thought about it coz I like players who we have right now. Also I convinced myself that pg situatione can and will be solved Rick will just "hurt" someones feelings (I am aiming pllaying time) and we will do fine, atleast I hope... So you bought up valid point but I hope we can still make some serious noise in playoffs, infact I am sure we will.

Nah I personally think Webber was the more complete scorer who could pass better, score better, rebound about the same. The only thing Jermaine is better at is defending

I agree, but we have to move on. Right now we're missing a leader; Ron wasn't a leader. Right now Jermaine isn't our leader, and I don't know if he'll be our leader this year or not.

Webber before the injuries was much better than Jermaine is now. Chris had an awesome passing game, too, which benefitted Peja. JO has little. Webber was a better scorer and rebounder. Jermaine has an edge on shot blocking, and that's it.

He didn't accept being a role player. Once he became a good scorer, he started hogging the ball.

Injuries
No 3rd string SG/SF/PF
Jermaine doesn't post

Besides that, we're fine.

Quote:
A true center.
No one really has a true Center now. Shaq is really the only great post scoring Center. Once he's gone, many Centers will be similar to Jeff Foster. Rebounding and defense will be key for Centers. Shot blocking, also. We should be fine with Foster/Pollard/Harrison. Harrison's closer to being a "true" Center than anyone else in the league, but wouldn't help Jermaine O'Neal's hypothetical post game.

Jermaine could be equal to those guys on the defensive end.

Agreed 10 thousand %..

And also all this talk about us not having a true C. will end once my boy David develops into the typer of player that I know he's capable of becoming, everygame the kid gets better, and his fouls are also going down...oh and how can you forget his 2 monster dunks last night.... ...

The Hulk about to turn greener next season and for many years to come, you'll see....
