Future may be bleak

Donnie (stuborn as heck) Walsh has again, just like the moron did last year, said he stands behind Thomas as head coach and is blaming the team for another 1st round exit. He said major changes will happen to the team this summer. We already have a good team, its our coach who is the problem. Im starting to get a little worried about this teams future. I hope we dont trade away too much of the team. If O'Neal stays, then this is who I think are the 3 players we should not consider trading.

1)O'Neal
2)Artest
3)Miller

This may not be possible though. Someone said in a thread that O'Neal was going to demand that Tinsley, Artest and Mercer would all have to be traded if he was going to stay. If this is true thats probably why Donnie is saying there will be trades. Im getting a little tired of Jermain being a baby. I hope all this stuff is fabricated or just misheard info, otherwise this team could be very different next year, and probably in a bad way.

IMO, this is what needs to happen.

1) Trade Bender. He has alot of potential and upside and could possibly nab someone to help the team
2) Trade Tinsley. I like Tinsley alot and was always there to back him up when people talked of trades. Hes too inconsistent. Hes shown flashed of being a great playmaker but we need a solid, consistent, playmaking PG to lead this young team.
3)Trade Croshere, Mercer, or god willing both. They are too overpaid to keep around.
4) Package up the above listed players to nab a top 10 pg. Thats what this team needs, It would help this team immensly. Us getting a pg could mean the difference between going all the way and a 4th year of being nocked out in the first round.
5)Start playing Fred Jones so that he can hopefully fill in for Reggie in the future. Although he will never be a replacement to all the things Reggie has provided this team with, hes a superathletic guard whose jumping has been likened to Vince Carter. He could turn out to be a star or at the very least a solid 2 guard.

Thats all just my opinion though. Que in with your thoughts.

What do you think about this deal?

JWills/ERob for Bender and Artest or Harrington?

You are getting a future All-star in JWills who we all know can be pretty good if in the right system and enough minutes.

You guys need to give Bender his opportunity to be success. On a deep team like urs he will never meet his potential.

I would probably do that for Bender and Harrington just to get JWil. It would be a shame to give away 2 of our high school boys though. And ERob would be even less effective than they were on our team. I think I'd like to get some more time to see JWil play before I'd do the trade.

I like your ideas R-Star, I hope we keep Artest and keep his anger in check, he's kinda similar to K-Mart, he has a load of talent but his anger held him from his full potential. K-Mart overcame this now lets hope Artest can. I think O'Neal will stay as long as Bender and Harrington stay, he has said those are his best friends on the team and with the whopping contract he can get from us he might as well stay.

Jay Williams
Reggie Miller
Ron Artest
Jermaine O'Neal
Bard Miller

that's a great team, but still the same coach. same results

I wouldnt do it. Maybe JWill for Bender straight up, but ERob doesnt interest me, especialy not for someone like Artest or Harrington.
And who's to say JWill will be any better than Tinsley? Look at their stats and you'll see Tinsley was clearly better.
My thought would be trade Tinsley and Bender for a solid point guard on a crappy/average team, who wants to play on a good team (a la Bibby and Andre Miller- though the Clippers do suck). What about Baron Davis? New Orleans doesnt seem to be going anywhere, maybe they'd give him up for someone with unlimited upside like Bender and a good, potentialy great point guard like Tinsley? Maybe throw in a draft pick or 2 too.
