Do we have enough money to pick up a good free agent?
I know there are alot of good free agents this year, but who are they and do we have the money to be able to afford any of them?

I don't know how much money we'll have left over to spend after Jermaine gets his. Also if we unload some players (namely Austin) where do we stand? And what is the cap going to be set at for 2003-2004?

I know if we can dump Mercer and Croshere then a whole lot would be cleared, but if we resign JO then he's gonna get the max and we'll probably be pretty deep in the hole.

If we're lucky we will be able to keep the players we already have. If we do we will be over the cap by quite abit. I dont see us picking up any real tallent this summer.

Brad Miller, Reggie, and JO are the free agents we have to re-sign right? Brad Miller has some potential to be real good, hopefully him and JO re-sign and Reggie takes a pay cut.

If Jermaine stays, I think everything else will fall into place.

yeah I think he might stay to just because of the money he can get here, he is probably just making the complaints about us not firing Isiah and wanting us to get rid of certain players because he is in a position right now where he can possibly alter the team to be how he wants it.

I agree. Although I think its going to be hard for a team to follow him if hes realy asking for these trades. Hes supposed to be the team leader, and whos going to want to follow a guy who makes demands like that? I hope he doesnt tear this team apart.

We should get rid of Jermaine, Crosher, and Mercer and pick up Duncan or Garnet.

And get rid of Reggie too. I know I'd be sad about that but he doesn't contribute much anymore and is hurting us.

I agree, he is hurting us more then he's helping, because he is what the team is used to being built around so he gets the starting position, we need to play Ron at the 2 and Al at the 3 and if we have Reggie he needs to come off the bench.

if we resign all those guys we should be right at the luxury threshold and we could still get a mid level exception I believe and bring in Antonio Daniels or a combo guard like that.

MInnesota is considering Croshere and a filler for Brandon's luxury tax exempt contract. The point of this is to allow you to keep Jermaine or Brad Miller, you won't be drenched in luxury tax by doing this. But Minnesota can get alot more for TB though, so I doubt a player like Croshere who's *** had it's own seat on the bench, such as Mo Taylor from Houston...

Croshere could produce alot more but he has too many things working against him in Indy. He plays behind Jermaine, Harrington, Bender and Foster. That doesnt leave much playing time. On top of that, Isiah doesnt seem to like him much and Croshere has been in his dog house for 3 years. I think he could blossom on another team.
