Granger's injury came about with 4:38 in the third quarter when Elton Brand blocked his shot, then on the follow-through inadvertently hit the back of Granger's neck with his elbow. According to a statement released from the Pacers during the fourth quarter, Granger was taken to Methodist Hospital for examination, was "awake and responsive and was able to move his arms and legs" upon arrival. After a round of tests on his neck including X-rays, no structural injuries were found and Granger was released. He is officially listed as day-to-day with a sore neck.
