Pacers Season Awards

MVP- Jermaine O'neal
Had an All-Star season and when he wasn't playing, the Pacers struggled and nobody else could step up. The whole team was on his back this year but he just couldnt take it. There was nobody to help him out, it was a one man team and O'neal did as much as he could. He was definately the Most Valuable Pacer this season so the award goes to JO.

Most Improved Player- Jamaal Tinsley
This one is going to Tinsley because he played 30 more games this year then he did last year. His PPG went up and so did his assists. Tinsley was one of the few players who stepped up when JO was out and IMO he deserves the Most Improved Player Award.

6th Man of the Year- Darrel Armstrong
Armstrong was a surprise this year and was one of the few bench players that had a positive impact on the court. He brought lots of much needed energy for the team and leadership.

ROY- Shawne Williams
Not much to chose from...actually nobody to chose from really. ROY goes to the wasted draft pick Shawne Williams.

Defensive Player of the Year- Jermaine O'neal
Just dominated on defense averaging 9 rebounds a game and just swatted every shot that came near him. He was a beast this year proving that he's one of the leagues top shot blockers.

Re: Pacers Season Awards

MVP- JO
Though shooting at a low FG% and often going on very cold nights, I guess he's the best candidate we have. I want to hold back on this award because JO never takes over games or changes a game like a true MVP.

Most Improved Player- Danny Granger
I now consider Danny Granger the best shooter on this entire team, especially from downtown. I am really proud of this guy, who has stepped up from being really just a defensive guy in his first year to becoming a guy with a whole repetoire of offense (shooting, driving, passing). He can only get better next year and he has good hustle.

6th Man of the Year- Darrel Armstrong
Possibly my favorite Pacer on the team except Jeff Foster. Anyone with amazing hustle should be a fan favorite and Armstrong is almost celebrating his 40th. Also Marquis Daniels would have taken this category if he had no been injured so much. Whenever he played, I was always confident that Pacers would never go on a scoring drought. That guy is rediculously good, and I think it's because of Carlisle that he did not get to start.

ROY- Shawne Williams
He'll get there just like Granger.

Defensive Player of the Year- Jermaine O'Neal
JO's blocks are rediclous.

Re: Pacers Season Awards

I wouldn't say Granger is most improved. I thought he needed to step up more in absense of JO. He is still my favorite player, but he didn't rebound at all this year like he did his rookie year. I expected more from him. I hope next year is better for him.

Look at his jump shot from earlier this year compared to last. He was shooting extremely well until he had to become a higher scoring option. No one else really improved much from last year to this one. Tinsley looked better, yes, but he's always had the ability, just hasn't had the opportunity. Plus, he's been injured.

I'll post mine, but won't go too in-depth since they aren't too contested.

MVP- Jermaine O'Neal. Simple vote. He was our best offensive and defensive player, and when he was injured the last 2 months, we really slumped.

MIP- Danny Granger. As I said earlier, even though he didn't perform when given more shots, his jumper really improved. However, his defense and rebounding seem to have declined.

6th Man- Darrell Armstrong. It could've been Marquis had he actually played more, but Armstrong has been solid all year. He was incredibly at shooting with the new ball, but even when the old one came back, he still found ways to be effective.

ROY- Shawne Williams. Even though he has no competition, Williams has been great when he's played this year. Good shooting and longer arms make him look like a younger version of Granger, but not too much worse.

DPOY- Jermaine O'Neal. Great shot blocking until the injury, anchoring a defense that would've been by far the worst in the league without him.
