Armstrong, a high-energy player with a non-guaranteed contract with the Pacers, has enrolled his children in school in Atlanta as he waits to find out where he’ll play his 14th season in the league.

Armstrong didn’t say what teams, but Golden State and Dallas are believed to be his top choices. He’d be reunited with Don Nelson, who coached him in Dallas, along with former Pacers teammates Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington in the Bay Area. Armstrong spent two seasons with the Mavericks.
Armstrong, who said he’s been working out on a regular basis in Atlanta, is expected to report to training camp if the Pacers can’t find a way to trade him.

Speaking of Diener, he’s expected to get the soft cast off his left hand any day now after suffering a slight break in it after falling while running backwards during a pickup game earlier this summer. Diener’s right handed.

Diener, who has been limited to non-contact drills, is expected to be ready for the start of training camp Oct. 2.

“(The Pacers) have expressed interest and we’re pretty close to (making) a decision,” Cornstein said.

Charlotte and Phoenix are also reportedly interested in Batista, who averaged 20.8 points and 12.4 rebounds during the FIBA Americas Championship in Las Vegas. Batista, who would give the Pacers another big body in the front court, obviously likes the international game because he only averaged 1.7 points and 2.5 rebounds in 8.2 minutes in two years with the Atlanta Hawks.

As much as I would love to see Armstrong back for the Pacers, I totally understand why he would like to go elsewhere. He's at the end of his career. He should definately go somewhere wheere he can contend for a title like Dallas and now that we have Travis Diener I dont see much of a role for Armstrong.

I hope DA gets a title as well, I'm gonna really miss him, he was all heart.
