Question Do You Wish Artest Was Still A Pacer???....

I use to have alot of bad feelings towards Ronnie for the way that he betrayed the franchise and the fans that stood by him through the end, but I was thinking the other day of all the potential our team once had, and what could've been had that night in Detroit never happened....Sad what this team has now turned to, and our lineup is even sadder...I mean yeah we'll probably make the postseason only because the East is garbage, but this team the way it stands now will never come close to even smelling the finals.......Put Artest instead of any player that's not JO, and we're automatically contenders again....

Re: Do You Wish Artest Was Still A Pacer???....

The reason why the Pacers are garbage today, is thanks to Ron Artest and what he did on that night in Detroit. I love Ron Artest as a player but as a person he makes me sick. He puts himself before the team and doesnt know when to shutup. But the thing is, this Pacer team is so pathetic right now that I would love for Ron Artest to be on the team. Other then Danny Granger and JO, the team is ****. I'm sorry but we need someone, anybody and I dont care if that person is an *** like Artest because we desperately need help. It's not fun being a Pacers fan right now, and I dont think it will be any fun for a long time.

Re: Do You Wish Artest Was Still A Pacer???....

well, first off- my apologies to anyone who may feel as if i'm about to insult them or anything because i am not trying to do that-honestly i'm not.

now, on to this ridiculous issue. no way in hell would i even remotely consider bringing that turd back. even if he pledged to play for free- i'm serious. how soon some of us forget the drama and turmoil we had during his brief stint here. the facts are that the detroit thing did happen and even if it didn't, we still were having plenty of problems with that jerk and that wasn't going to change-ever.
he never thinks of anyone but himself. anyone remember the foolish crap about him retiring and becoming a rapper? anyone remember all the so-called missed flights which were really just ron refusing to board the plane because he wasn't getting his way on some issue?despite all his amazing talent, his baggage far outweighs his benefits. he was getting suspended regularly and that does not help us win. he is (and ALWAYS will be) a loose cannon and can never be happy for long. there is always a reason for him to cause trouble. i haven't kept track of him since he left the pacers but i'm pretty sure he has had some issues with his teammates in sacto. he will always have issues with any team anywhere because despite the big, strong frame of a grown man, he has the mind of an 8 year old problem child.

this kind of talk makes me think of the kind women i see on talk shows whose boyfriends or husbands used to abuse them regularly. they get away for awhile and then start to pretend that things weren't really as bad as they were. they tell themselves "but he could be really nice too" or "maybe this time it will be different" he has hurt this franchise far more than he ever helped it and nothing can change that.
one more thing- back before he was traded, he said he was sorry and that he wanted to come back. his teammates took a vote on whether to let him come back. they all voted no.
i think that speaks for itself.
times have been very tough to be a fan of this team but i do not for a moment regret getting rid of him and i will never want to see him playing for this team again.
