Re: Pacers vs Clippers Nov. 7th Game Thread
Pathetic game. The effort wasn't bad, but Jermaine didn't play enough in the 3rd quarter, and without him and Ike, we had no post presence. Even then, none of our players managed to score inside, and Dunleavy and Granger settled for bricking jump shots. As if that wasn't bad enough, Daniels didn't play in the 1st half, even though he's the best perimeter defender. Cassell was burning Tinsley and Diener, and O'Brien didn't give Daniels a chance at him until the final few minutes. Plenty of issues with this game, including the lack of effort on the offensive glass and so many miscommunications. I can't remember how many times I had to watch Jeff Foster battling four Clippers for the offensive rebound, all on each side of him. The first three games were fun and hopeful, but this team needs much more time to gel together before we expect anything promising. Obviously, if Dunleavy and Granger are both on, we can win any game, and when Jermaine O'Neal's stamina is finally to O'Brien's level, we'll have more reliable post play. The main problem this cast of players will always have is rebounding, though. Jeff Foster can't do it all alone, especially since his vertical jump is even more severely limited than in year's past.
