Detroit
The Pistons probably just made the Central a two horse race- New Orleans and us. Oh well, sucks for them.

I think we will take NO guys. The only possition they realy have us at is the PG. And maybe not even by that much, since Tinsley is practicly coming back in a new body. We beat them out on shooting guard, tie with them on small forward. Destroy them on power forward and beat them on center. Our team will be more jelled this year as well. I think we will take the Central and be second in the east to the much improved Nets.

Tie at SF??? Harrington/Artest vs. Mashburn/Augmon??? Mashburn is an all-star caliber player. He puts up 22 PPG w/ 7 rebounds and 5 assists when healthy. You are joking about that tie, right?
Oh, ask anybody who knows anything about post play whether Jamal Magliore will be better than Brad Miller this year, then ask whether Campbell is as capable a back-up as Jeff Foster. You can't deny the answer to that one. Also, no matter how different Tinsley is this year, Baron is going to be Baron, and that should scare you.
Also, Lynch is a more reliable bench player than Croshere, even if Jermaine is a lot better than PJ. The PF spots are a lot closer than the starters would indicate. I think these two teams are very favorably matched, but I certainly don't think either is a clear favorite.

No, I agree, neither team has a clear advantage over the other. It would be close. I realy dont agree about you thing NO wins at Center though. Although I am Canadian and love Magloire, he is not in the same league as Brad Miller. After Brad came to Indiana, he was the 3rd highest scoring center in the League, I dont think many people realize that. And for the sf possition, I think we a tied there not because of what Al and Ron produce on offence, but what they do on defence. They have show night in and night out that the can shut down the best shooters in the league. Including Mike, Kobe, Vince, Tracy and not to mention Mash. Also, before Harrington went down, he was averaging more than 13 points a game and 6 rebounds comming off the bench for Jalen Rose. If you dont think those number will increase greatly this year you are wrong. Our biggest fault against the Hornets is at the point, where Baron is deffinatley a mile ahead of Tinsley. Although I see the gap closing with every passing game Tinsley plays, he will be great, mark my words. All that being said though I do agree, NO and Indiana have the best chances at their conference and I think it should be exciting to watch.

I think you are grossly under estimating Brad Miller and Al Harrington, Brad Miller is a top 5 center and Al is a budding star. But you'll find all that out. I can't wait to see Mash throw hissy-fits when Al and Artest shut him down. Best defensive small forward combo in the L. No doubt. Remember, Offense isn't everything (except to Mash and Baron).

For your information, Detroit has improved since being ousted from the playoffs. We may have lost Jerry Stackhouse, but Rip is still a pretty good player. I think you forgot we've also added a capable point guard (Chauncey Billups) and two guys that should help out with rebounding immediately, because of size (Mehmet Okur and Tayshaun Prince). Plus, Rodney should have a bigger role this year. I wouldn't write the Pistons off yet, they improved talent from last years team...a team that won the central division.

I hate to tell you guys, but... we're winning the East. Too deep and too talented. It's our time.

I've never said #1. Though, I see no reason why we shouldn't have a shot at winning the central again.
