Pacer Dreams
Ok so its all over with for the Pacers this year. Close but no cigar. What needs to happen in Indy to get them to the finals next year. Tinsley has one year left on his deal. Personally, I like him but thats not what this is about. Harrington seems to want out of town and doesnt really fit in with the team. I like harrington as well so i'm going to leave my personal opinions out of this.
So i'm not going to make any bold predictions just yet. I'll let you all do that.

I say we should go after Eric Dampier......That would be a huge boost....Foster and Croshere are not starters......
We could go after TMac.....but then dont we become the Orlando Magic?.....We run a team game and I dont think he would fit in......But then on the other hand.......we need a bonafide scorer.....That really hurt us in the Pistons game...we need someone who we can go to that we know will get us a basket.....

"Both teams played hard"
anyways, good run, you knocked us out....
i think the Heat should be ready next year to challenge the Pistons and Pacers (and maybe the Nets if they stay good) in the East

jermaine learned somethin'.
Pacers will be fine...they just need to run some sort of motion offense to get out on the break more. We already know this team can succeed in the half-court.
Your team gets predictable when either you are pounding to Jermaine or letting Ron run isos.

Man Im for reggie. He is a great player that deserves one more shot at a ring. Hopefully he will stick around for one more season.

He never really did, but he was very unhappy with not starting, and might want to leave this year. Personally, i think a double-post offense with Harrington and Jermaine would be very good for us. It also would move Artest to the 3rd option hopefully

He did? Where was I?
I'd try my best to keep both Harrington and Bender, but it will be hard. So i would deal Harrington, because he has more value but Bender has better potential. Harrington has shown us all that has has in the past few seasons, in 3 years, besides the time he got hurt, he has basicially shown us the same thing with little improvements. It may be time to move Harrington.
I would bring in a new PG. Tinsley is good, but he's the weakness of the team. Someone like even Gary Payton, although i don't think we'll want him if he wins his ring with Los Angeles this season. He won't be as motivated.
Nick Van Exel would be a good pickup also, bring some offense to the team. But he wants to play in Texas.
-Tell Reggie he is a backup.
-Get rid of Croshere anyway possible.
-Get rid of Anthony Johnson and Kenny Anderson.
-Trade Scot Pollard for 2 basketballs.
-Do the Chicago/Indy deal. Harrington for 3rd overall pick and Eddie Robinson.
-Draft Shaun Livingston or Ben Gordon with the 3rd overall.
-Sign Brent Barry from Seattle.
-Sign Erick Dampier from Golden State.
Lineup:
PG: Tinsley/whoever/pick
SG: Barry/Reggie/Jones
C: Dampier/Foster
PF: O'Neal/Robinson
SF:Artest/Bender
I know I have Eddie Robinson as a PF, but in the East, we can go with small lineups and be fine with it and we could play alot of Dampier/Foster at the same time lineups too, with O'Neal on the floor also.
Fred Jones would share backup time with Reggie this season while Barry would be signed on a 2 year deal. Next season, Fred Jones would be the sole backup and in 3 years the starter.
Bender would be the 6th man on this team who would fill in at forward and guard and would play a lot of minutes.
I don't know how this makes sense money wise, it's 2:22am here and i am tired, it's just something i'v been thinking in my head as a "Dream" so i don't know the realistic view of it, but i REALLY hope theres a way to land both Dampier and Barry. If we lose Harrington, Pollard and Croshere, i don't think there would be a problem adding those 2 and Robinson's contract though.
All i know is, this is going to be a fun and exciting off-season for Larry Bird, i can't wait to see what he does with this team because we are very very close to being the King's of the NBA.

I like the idea of trading Harrington for the third pick then dealing it to LA for the 2nd pick with the pacers other first round pick. Howard = Amare S. Next I'd go after Dampier. Finally I'd keep A. Johnson and get another willing point guard backup. And i'd trade for Tmac too if they'd take Bender, Croshere, and Pollard...ok maybe not.

2 words...PAUL PIERCE.
we gotta try and get him...then we play Reggie off the bench next season.
Freddie Jones will be a career back-up if Pierce comes...but what a back-up he will be.
Harrington will be traded either for picks or a big man....or maybe both.
...although Ray Allen is another good option.

I would not mind Paul Pierce at all. He could take over games for use, but I don't know how he would deal with not being the #1 option.
