This place is to talk about anything related to Brazil, feel free to ask, I will be posting interesting things from time to time.
I got this idea because DaUnbreakableKinG asked me about a Brazilian soap-opera and I feel that answering him on the other thread would be too off topic, so I am doing it here.

do you know a series called Clone??? (its from brazil)
Yep, I know it. It's produced by Globo, the biggest channel here. I am not a big fan of "novelas" (that's what we call this kind of series), but the whole country loves it. Big, big ratings when it was showing here. This "novelas" are selled to a lot of diferent countries and is really surprising how much people knows them.

Its nice man. They're showing it in my country Kosovo now with translation and people from my country all over the world are watching it. (we have a channel that we can see with a special satelite from my country and thats how I started watching Clone)
You get addicted to it man. you wanna watch more and more and more and can't wait to see what is happening next.
Is it still on there in Brazil or is it over??
From seeing those "novelas" I wanna visit Brazil. So nice man. Beautiful. maybe I'll visit when I get older.

The show is over since a couple of years ago, but beleive me, almost all of the Brazilians are addicted to "novelas"and "O Clone" was one of the major one, especially "rating" wise. This kinds of shows are a social phenomenon, very similar to soccer. Globo always sell their programs to foreign countries and a lot of turists come here because of what they see in the "novelas". Globo earns a good amount of money with this productions, so they can hire the best actors and do some quality stuff.
What part of the show are they showing in Kosovo?
Althought I am not a fan of "novelas" there is some nice things to see in some of them.

They are showing the whole thing. Right now I believe its "Novela" 120 or somewhere around there and I believe we got a lot more to see.
In my country they always show "novelas" from Brazil.
Before O Clone, I forgot the name but it was about a guy that was a "honey" businessman and owned a lot of land. Her niece or something like that was going out with a guy who was the son of the guy that he hated the most. I don't know if you remember or saw this.
at the start of the novela there was always a lot of cows and honey shown.
Taking your description, I think you are talking about "O Rei do Gado" (The Cattle King or The King of Cattle). The thing is that they produce coffee and breed cattle. There is two enemies and the story seems to be the same.

Have you seen the movie Black God White Devil? Does it make more sense if you are brazillian?
And what do Brazillians think of movies like City of God and Pixote which portray Brazil negatively to the rest of the world, but are really good movies?

Yeah, I saw it. And the movie is indeed confusing, but being a Brazilian probably helps a lot to understand the concept of the film. "Black Dog White Devil", uses a lot of symbols, metaphors and images of our culture. The director Glauber Rocha, produced a movie that exposed the main problems of Brazil.

Both movies generated a lot of talk here in Brazil. The subject is in discussion, and there isn't only one idea about it. IMO, City of God and Pixote are necessary to our society. We need to face the problems of our country. Pretending that the things showed in the films doesn't exist is a bigger problem then the "bad image" they produce to the rest of the world. They are really good movies, artistic and technically, but it's important to remember that Meirelles and Babenco had a social agenda when they did their work.
JGKoblenz, I was born in Brasil and am a huge Botafogo fan. What team do you like? Also, do you remember Jiraya? I idolized him, LOL.
EDIT: Also, remember the novela "Proxima Victima"? It was one of my favorites.

Any good places to fish besides the Pantanal? I'm going back probably this christimas.
Also I'll ask again if you found a Nene Brasil Olympic team jersey?

As the stage becomes bigger, Gasol shrinks. KG has him found out. The Celtics have finally realized that they need to milk Pierce's high pick and roll, and the Lakers have no answer. The bench, especially Nate, is fully engaged and has become perhaps the biggest advantage for the Celtics. Add to that the fact that Ray will probably find his jumpshot, and the odds look grim for the Lakers.
