I'm also up for a Canadian team. The more the ideas the better!

Also, what point in the year is the expansion "draft" going to be?
Right after the rookie draft and before free agency?

The KVBL would love to return to Canada. Vancouver and Toronto would love to have basketball back.

Ottawa should get a team. Canadian Capital City, plus has the most dominant Canadian College/University Basketball Program in recent history, Carleton University.

They have that option, but it's not a necessity. In the grand scheme of things, it's not huge to me if they bring in new stuff. I'd prefer defunct NBA/ABA teams, but as long as it's something reasonable then it's no big deal.

Say you have a contract you really want to get rid of. You can trade an expansion franchise some picks in exchange for them drafting that player from your team.

The other side of that would be leaving somebody unprotected and agreeing to give them picks to NOT select an unprotected player. Obviously that'd be up to the expansion franchise to deem that worthwhile or not.

Correct. It'd essentially be legally trading the picks for nothing, as far as cap is concerned.
