Timing of things isn't right for that, unfortunately. If things had been settled sooner, we'd have slotted those teams into the draft this year.

Tentatively planning on giving them #1 and #2 next year.

Yeah, I think Raps and Grizz got 2 and 3 automatically.

Bobcats got 2 in theirs I believe.

Another year where the Knicks won't get the #1 pick.

Expansion teams should be slotted lower like real life.

If your team is bad enough to be slotted for #1 again, that's on you for owner incompetence.

Nothing's been decided yet. Including the #1/#2 business.

Waiting on word, as mentioned in the other thread. Things will get settled quickly after that.

Sometimes it's not incompetence, but choice. Like some GM's don't make trades other GM's make. They like certain players and want them to be their starting 5 for the next 15 years

Tentative plans:

- Each team can protect up to seven players

- Players that will be UFAs this offseason can't be selected; RFAs that are selected will become UFAs

- Each expansion franchise may select no more than one player from any team

- Each expansion franchise must select at least ten players

- Teams with less than seven players to protect must designate at least one player as eligible for selection

- Expansion franchises can make trades with teams conditional on selecting or not selecting players left unprotected

- Expansions franchises will inherit Bird rights for restricted free agents they select

- Expansion draft selections will be made in a snake order, with the team choosing second receiving the #3 pick in 2020 and the team selecting first receiving the #4 pick in 2020
