The "put it on course" option you recommend involves doing daily sims of one gameday at a time. Not happening.

Say what now?

Why can't we just say, you can't inactivate your star players, whatever the reason. It's pretty simple, you don't max a player in the offseason to use merely a trade chip and then have him sit around until he's eligible to be traded. It's a way to get around the 'no tanking' clause because 2 sims into the season means you've sat a player for 1/4th of your games.

It wouldn't happen in the NBA, so why do we let it happen here?

You're definitely putting way too much into something that's not a big deal in the slightest. If a team signs a guy (Webb is not making the max, by the way) and they don't have a comparable level talent available, then yeah, the guy needs to play. This is not the case in Detroit.

You're making a complaint about a nontanking team trying to tank. It's nonsense.

Precedent is my main concern.

And come on, Webb is basically maxed out contract wise. In fact, he's earning $10 MILLION more than any other Detroit player this year. It's fine to not have him start if you don't believe he's conducive to winning, but to inactive him all together is something different entirely (and I don't care about 'courtesy').

The Pistons aren't allowed to try out a new backup at PF knowing that they'll be losing the guy they had there? That's what forcing him active/in the lineup (same thing in this case, as active with no role is meaningless) would do.

That isn't the case though, he just deactivated Webb.

The lack of a tanking rule for a long time was due to my legitimate concerns about policing DCs and attempting to make steadfast rules for teams in a variety of different situations. Now that there's a tanking rule in place, I have to make the call based on what I judge to be right.

There's not an issue in Detroit right now. If teams do things with the intent to lose, yeah, it's a problem and I'll deal with it.

DCs are up to date. Bump/bold changes. Try not to leave things bolded for the next sim if you don't make new changes. Nothing more annoying than going to fix somebody's settings and seeing that they're actually unchanged.

This isn't about courtesy, it's about competition.

Porn, you usually have good things to say...but this is ridiculous. The player is going to be traded. Therefore, the team deactivates the player so as not to send an injured player in the deal. Trade can't happen till SIM 2, so it is in his best interest (and that of the league) to have that player inactive and lower the chance of injury.

The only way this argument doesn't work is if KJ lets teams put in an escape clause where a deal is voided on injury of any principals.

PP - Webb belongs to the Heat now , and NO he won't be activated , you wouldn't want him injured as well if you traded Clifton for him... so get over yourself.
