is it likely all pending trades are processed in "virtual space" and obviously NOT in the game itself since its not up to speed yet, being that picks for this draft etc are involved and for the league's sake I assume we are kind of acting like nothing really changed aside from you recreating the file we are looking at via HTML?

Yeah, for all intents and purposes we're acting as if my dead laptop never died/nothing ever happened.

It's essentially just picking up where we left off, minus a few minor changes. No need to archive threads or anything, and I'm rolling with 3.5 rather than, say, 4.0. Downloads over here are way too slow, I'm stuck waiting on open office right now before I can get going in earnest on the rookies.

Indeed. I'm behind schedule due to various things being put in front of me when I was expecting bundles of uninterrupted time. I should hopefully be able to get the rookies done tomorrow before the next one of those, but we'll see.

Still going to try to get the draft in before Beijing, but not making any guarantees.

the air in Beijing is so bad its like being a cigarette smoker. foreign journalists have air purifiers in their cars that need filter replacement more than once per day. even for china the air quality has turned to shit. its so bad, the chinese government even admits it now.

Apparently my backup missed some random .txt file that JSB is claiming it needs to advance past the offseason, so the existing file is not going to be able to be used. Don't worry, though, it really doesn't affect us at all other than giving me a bit more work to do.

Basically, rather than just bringing the existing league file up to 2029, I'm going to have to start a new file using all of the data I already have in place from the old file. More work, will delay us a bit, but I'll get to work on it now and hopefully it'll be smooth sailing.

The only thing I think this should impact that wasn't already going to be different is free agency. The "tradition" contract factor is going to be out of whack since the sim file doesn't have seasons upon seasons to base that on.
