KVBL 3.5ish: The Tentative Plan (Update: Season 15 likely starts Thursday)
The file backup is more recent than I anticipated, which is quite nice. Here's the pertinent information:
- The file was backed up after sim six of last season, meaning most of the players are going to be true to themselves as we know them right now - I have a lot less work to do versus what I was expecting - No snake draft, we're continuing a semi-same timeline Two Options (1) I will use the existing player files plus the league site to replicate rosters and picks as of now. The rookies from last year might be off a bit from their hidden ratings, but otherwise things should be golden. I'm going to rebuild this year's draft class as close as possible to its original self, upload a new grades sheet, give a couple of days for scouting, and then we'll draft. (2) I will use the existing league file and results from last offseason to bring the league file back up to speed with the beginning of this past season, and we'll redo it/start a new continuity from there. I prefer the first option. It's not exactly perfect, but it will be a very good approximation of where we were before and should allow everyone to maintain the footing they'd established through trades they've made over the past season (including ones leading into this draft). I know most of this year's draft class pretty well (at least the top players) due to doing them recently, so it shouldn't be too far off what it was before. |

Anything over a snake.
Nice work getting something out of nothing.

Option 1 sounds good to me.

Re: KVBL 3.5ish: The Tentative Plan (Good news, everyone!)
I expect 1 to be the overwhelming favorite, but I'll let this poll get some more votes before I call it one way or the other. I'll get to work on some of the preliminary stuff that I'm going to have to do either way.
A post plus poll vote is probably ideal. We'll get the next season started by the end of the month at the latest, and that's only because I'll be in Beijing for what's essentially five days beginning with the middle of next week. |

Neither sounds good to me, but I'll probably just move on with whatever the majority decides.

1 sounds better. What rookie class do you mean? The one with Carter or the one after?

Re: KVBL 3.5ish: The Tentative Plan (Good news, everyone!)
Carter's class is the last class that will perfectly match its 3.0 self. The Bachman/etc. class will have the same ratings and contract factors, but won't necessarily have the same hidden ratings (they should, though, as I believe the sim's rookie file ought to be the same and that should enable them to be drafted in the same order as before making sure that guys maintain their previous ratings there).
The file would be brought up to the 2029 offseason where we're at now, I'll just need to be redoing the rookie ratings (my homework for tomorrow). |

If I had this desktop in my room, I'd probably try to stay up working on stuff, but I'll just end up falling asleep either way.
When I wake up in the morning, I'll look to see if the huge tide for option #1 is stemmed at all. If not, I'll get to work on creating the rookies and getting that grade sheet up so guys can re/do their scouting. The draft should be able to get done before I leave for Beijing, but FA is unlikely to start until after I return (early AM hours next Sunday). |

Option #1 is basically mirroring where we should be at right now pre-dead laptop. Only difference is altered 2029 rookies. |

Or simply let the game do what it may after it catches up Kinda like a sim crash after progressions where they get redone. Question being would that affect a lot of trades folks made once progressions happened? I'd assume not the biggest deal and less work for you
