Kind of strange to me that Charles Conway has my highest scoring game despite all the scorers I've had over v3.

Re: Stats Discussion

Kinda shitty cuz I started out taking over a shemful team that was 7-75 so my record looks worse than it should because I wasn't experienced enough as a GM to build it up right away. But that's okay I'll try and improve it.

Tenth best record even after three seasons of tanking in the past four seasons. Not bad.

Re: Stats Discussion

I got bored and started playing around with HOF Probability (from Basketball-Reference) to kill some time. The sim obviously makes its own decisions on HOF players, but this gives you an idea of how players' stats in the KVBL would translate into HOF chances if these guys were NBA players. There are some limitations, though, as I only have the stats from 3.0 (I'm not going to bother adding in real life stats for the NBA guys still around, and I'm not going to pore through the dead 2.0 file to get KVBL guys' old stats either - this is just for kicks AKA not worth too much effort).

Anyhow, on with the numbers...these (like all these other things, for the most part) only take into consideration completed seasons. Impending All-Star berths/championships could very well sway things in the future. These are all the guys that were over a 50% shot.

Quote:
HOF Probability
1. LeBron James - 99.57%
2. Dwight Howard - 99.09%
3. Detlef Landros - 98.79%
4. Caramel Love - 98.76%
5. Ricky Briscoe - 97.39%
6. Alistair Maynard - 96.77%
7. Tony Spence - 96.36%
8. Travere Bernard - 81.32%
9. John Wall - 80.08%
10. Mancin Tulker - 79.03%
11. Walker Gilchrist - 78.48%
12. Gerrod Clifton - 73.68%
13. Clarence Harvey - 72.17%
14. Aleksandr Matechowski - 71.28%
Russell Westbrook and Travis Perry were near misses (given Perry's being on my team and a personal favorite, I checked and saw that his impending All-Star berth nudges him over the 50% mark, so he'll appear on future lists when I do this again). Guys like Cooper and Fisher who saw their best days in 2.0 just didn't have the numbers in 3.0 to get it done. Awards and defensive stats (if you checked the formula and saw) don't really factor in, so some guys get a bit undersold. This formula has proven pretty accurate when it comes to NBA players, though, so there's that. In any case, this is just another fun stat for those of you that enjoy when I throw those out there.

Some more quick thoughts:

- LeBron/Dwight have the elite stats, a championship, and All-Star berths galore to give them their lock status; crazy to note that they'd each be higher when you take 2.0 into account, given how high they already are

- Landros above Caramel is somewhat surprising when you consider the otherworldly nature of Love's stats, but that's the difference a championship makes....which it's actually even crazier to think about Caramel being that high without a championship; add one in and he might be 99.9% or even 100%

- Briscoe and Spence are more or less in the Caramel boat: oodles of All-Star berths, crazy stats, no championship

- Maynard, you'd think, would be higher than he is, but height is actually a negative factor when it comes to this stat, so Maynard's really only where he's at because he's 7'1"

- Travere hasn't been an All-Star as often as you'd think, but he's otherwise got all the accolades to boost him up to where he's at

- The rest of the bunch are guys who'd benefit greatly from a title or more All-Star selections (Clifton, of course, just gets hosed by 2.0 not being included); a lot of what makes Matechowski and Harvey great is their defense, if that could be factored in in some way, they'd be a good ways higher

Enjoy. Discuss. Etc.

EDIT: The timing would've probably been better if I waited until after this All-Star sim, so as to allow for most up to date info in that department...but meh. I'll do another update next season most likely, so it's not going to disappear forever.

Oh, and for the curious, Zvonko's 3.0 numbers had him at 86.8%.

Garrett Thomas fared pretty decently coming in at something like 20%, I think. He'd be a lot closer if he was an All-Star a few more times.
