Brian's Top 10 All-Time Greatest KVBL GMs (2nd ed.) The original list-source, and let's face it, the only one out there that counts for anything. ![]() I decided to do this because my view on some of the GMs have changed quite a bit since my last list, so without further ado; 10. Dissonance Diss is a GM that I feel has always made the right moves. A few of the teams he has put together in the past have underperformed in my opinion - his KVBL 2.0 fantasy draft night team with CP3, Paul George and Al Jefferson springs to mind. This season it finally looked as if everything had come together but then injuries hit. A 'ship would've definitely bumped him up a couple of spots. Clothier shows no signs of slowing down but his supporting cast is aging. I guess the question is whether The Cloth is good enough to carry the team to the very end if guys like Moncova and Wall begin to decline. The Blazers should still be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years but I feel like this year was their best shot to win it all.

9. Porn Player
![]() One thing you have to give to Porn is that he is always trying to win. Whether that's going to work out for him remains to be seen; maybe one of these years a savvy, veteran team of his will surprise everyone and win it all - who knows, crazier things have happened before. I feel like he's went away from his 2.0 philosophy that put a lot of emphasis on defense and efficiency, and as a result he's become inconsistent. Porn's getting sloppy in my opinion. Still, he's managed to put together some winning teams in KVBL 3.0 and I can't deny his success in versions 1 (Z-Bo + Crawford duo, lol) and 2.

8. Me
I don't want to write about me but this is where I'd rank myself as a GM.

7. Aeroplanino
![]() In terms of GMing abilities, I would put Aero in the top 3. But because of the success rates of all the GMs on my list from here on out, I have to penalize Aero for his down-seasons - the guys ahead of him are just more consistent, and even though I don't think consistency holds too much weight, it has to be acknowledged just because everybody is so good. Both he and a GM like BJ are highly skilled; both have fielded extremely dominant teams and won a championship, if you had to say that one was better than the other, you'd be forced to go off consistency... ![]() In my opinion Aero makes the smartest trades out of any GM in the league, it's always clear that he's considered all factors and has extracted maximum value. I have not paid much attention to his depth charts, so I can't say outright that he isn't a good coach, but he has had more than one great team that has gotten upset in the 1st or 2nd round in the past. Personally I think it was a matter of his defensively-weak point guards (Antonio Fernandez, Ed Lancaster) and bad match-ups on both the occasions but who knows.

6. Kenneth
The most polarizing GM in the league. This stuff still holds true; Quote:

have to agree with that , kenneth is one of the best if not the best DC maker/coach in the league.

Re: Brian's Top 10 GMs (2nd ed.)
It's curious to me that the best trader and best depth-chart maker are out of the Top 5. Maybe this suggest that activity level, luck and other factors have a greater impact on the success that you have in this league than pure skill? Of course it's all subjective but interesting nonetheless...

Re: Brian's Top 10 GMs (2nd ed.)
Jerry Lukas was out in that Finals series too, something Kenneth couldn't take advantage of. People like to overlook that fact.

Re: Brian's Top 10 GMs (2nd ed.)
Wonder how high Brian goes if he beats me in that Game 7.

Re: Brian's Top 10 GMs (2nd ed.)
5. Smath
I don't like putting Smath this high, or mixing in out-of-KVBL accomplishments but I can't not do it either. He's probably been the most consistent GM in the KVBL (minus the atrocious, shameful tank of a season). Now that he's the defending champion of all three of the existing JSB leagues, I can't deny him a spot in the Top 5 any longer. A very good trade negotiator and capable coach as well, given that he won a championship with LBJ out. Do I think he caught a break with the Blazers and Thunder both catching injuries in these playoffs? Probably. But a championship is a championship and Smath has already proven himself to be a winner before this KVBL season. ...Still annoying as **** though.

Re: Brian's Top 10 GMs (2nd ed.)
Actually, to my knowledge my Trail Blazers just flat out lost apparently in a weird close series to Spurs. No injuries. I haven't been able to see what exactly what wrong because of China.

Re: Brian's Top 10 GMs (2nd ed.)
Top 4 will be posted tomorrow, by now it should be pretty obvious who's going to be in it. There's one new addition to what I consider to be "The Elite Group" and the order has been switched around a little bit. Expect write-ups including justifications.
Goodnight.

4. Jay
![]() Big drop from #1 to #4. Gotta give him his due (hence still being in the Top 4), but at the same time he's been average for a hot minute now. Jay's been quite inactive as of late, but that's not an excuse. Quote:
