Re: 2028 KVBL Draft Grades
Great read, and yes Denys will find minutes.....as a STARTER!!. My starting 5 lacks 3 point shooting which he brings and on top of that his assist rating at SF will help Duke and Saez on offense. I was really pissed that Zei took my main guy at #4. But Denys is a nice consolation prize.
And if you think I'm going to use him wrong, I'm always open to advice as I would like to make the playoffs for a change....

Re: 2028 KVBL Draft Grades
So what exactly is the point you're trying to make? They should get a B because they took the guy that best fits their team? McCall is what pushed it into A+ territory, a true 2nd round gem.

Re: 2028 KVBL Draft Grades
So when the Thunder drafted Kevin Durant 2nd overall you would give them an average draft grade because the pick was obvious? That's some boneheaded logic if you ask me.

I think you said it, but the McCall pick was great.

Re: 2028 KVBL Draft Grades
FWIW BJ/Smath
The argument over grading based on who "should've" been picked etc def has warrant but I think BJ is both right and wrong. BJ is right in saying if you're expected to pick someone and you do and he's solid that's prob an "A" However I believe you contradict yourself by giving Sixers an "A" Most would agree he should've had Bunchy, him currently being most likely the most coveted player at this time. I understand Aero taking the risk but ultimately I feel it was a mistake. And in that case I wouldn't grade that as an "A" since he didnt get best player.

Re: 2028 KVBL Draft Grades

I literally would have added a + to the highest possible grade if Aero would have nabbed Bunchy and Bridge. But if he takes Bunchy 1 and K4L takes Bridge 2 he's still taking Yepanchin 3, and I don't know that Bunchy/Yepanchin is significantly more talent than Brdige/Yepanchin. He also nabbed Zoltan at 10 and Donnelson is better than anybody would have thought. He basically got optimal value out of 3 of his 4 draft picks, so he gets an A. Could maybe dip it to an A-, but you don't draft talent like he did and not get an A of some variety. He took a risk that didn't fully pan out, but he also took some risks that did pan out. Smath saying that making the smart choice should result in an average grade because it's an easy choice just doesn't make any sense to me. So when the Sharks drafted Victor Lord 1st overall they should get a C because Lord was the clear number one? In what universe does that make any sense? For what it's worth, what pushed the Knicks from the A to the A+ was nabbing Quincy in the 2nd round. I know better than anybody how to build around Caramel, and McCall and Bunchy were not only great value where they were drafted but they are phenomenal fits with the teams best player (which I mentioned in the article). The combination of value and fit is what these grades are based on.

Re: 2028 KVBL Draft Grades
Sharks should not be getting C for drafting Victor Lord but also not A+ cuz any GM in the league would have made the same pick , in such cases just like in alot of cases in law , u need to run the "any given GM" test , any given GM in the league would have picked victor lord at 1st pick , AND bunchy at 2nd pick , therefore yes knicks don't dezerve A+ for this , not C but also not A+.

Re: 2028 KVBL Draft Grades
I think once their careers are over Bachman will be on a much higher plane than Bunchy. In fact, I don't think it will be close. Bunchy is bad on offense, not a good offensive rebounder and will turn it over a little bit to much for his offensive contributions. He will be great defensively though.
