I was going to release Baker and Lancaster, so the issue is two firsts (24 and 26) for Novak and his weird skillset. I think I can cover his foul rate and rebounding and I think based on what I've scouted 24 and 26 will be a couple of role players. I hope I'm right, had a feeling people might view this as questionable.

Novak is a really average player imo

He's a specific role player that I wanted to play a specific role... so I traded for him. I could have taken two guys at 24 and 26, I realize.

It's all good, you wanted your guy and you got him. I don't like the value, but it isn't awful. Just giving my two cents.

25 years old. 7-7-9-2 defense. 81 BLK rating. Doesn't turn it over a ton, decent scorer, slightly below average rebounder(not as important for a backup).

He traded the 24 and 26 pick. Those are hardly going to be impact players. I like this deal a lot for the Bulls.

Decent scorer in what sense? 16/62 fta/ft%, 13/28 3ga/3g% is miserably inefficient. He's a below average rebounder, nothing slight about it. Not to mention he's incredibly foul prone so he's going to foul 3.5 times in 20 something minutes, and that'll be at -1 or -2 anyways.

Kenny Bradford is foul rate medicine, and all he (Novak) needs to do is platoon with Insane Yap and others. We'll see, I wish we were doing the draft already.

this is one of the deepest drafts ever...Could have gotten a pretty decent player at 24 and 26...

they are confirmed late 1sts... Huge difference between confirmed late 1sts and likely late 1sts into the the future. At best those 1sts are going to be backups. I don't like Novak. But it's not a big price to pay for him at all. It'd be a different story if it were 2 1sts next year with exact slots unsettled.
