Hornets pick in all likelihood should be better than the Clippers pick. If the Lions pick ends up in the lottery that will be a nice bonus. Grubbs wanted $13M/Year for an extension, which I was not wanting to pay, though he could go cheaper in RFA.

Believe me, I tried my best getting the Hornets pick without giving up a pick for this year's draft. I tried for three days at least. In the end, the Hornets pick was a safer bet than the Clippers.

Was gonna comment at scdn haha. Yeah Prince and I went back and forth for awhile. Both very persistent and stubborn, but in the end I think we worked it out.

Couldn't have used the cap space due to the 3 1st rounders I have coming up. Hopefully this gives me more offence down low. With my new draft picks and a healthy Smith I'll be looking to be much better next year.

Helps the Bucks too. Hornets pick likely a little higher than Clippers pick, plus if my plans don't work out they'll be in good shape 2 years down the road.

Eager to hear what other people think as well.

That's awesome value IMO.

Clearly if hornets land a huge lotto spot QF gets solid value but in either case Lions get a big for only giving up a future 1st.

One of those trades where it's hard to gauge the value since I don't know how well Collins will fit, how deep the draft will be, or where the draft picks will end up, but I think both teams got great value and it should be even unless I end up as a bottom 10 team in 2025.

I think this works out well for both teams. The Lions essentially gambling on the difference between the picks being worth a very solid point guard and big guy who can definitely help them both short term and long term. I definitely get both sides.
