Re: Trade: Oklahoma City and Portland
I didn't wanna give up Everett or Keisel, but I didnt wanna wait it out, so I had to take on Norris and send those two while getting a 1st out of it.
This was actually the same trade discussed preseason where Diss was getting his pick plus salary and westbrook for Gilchrist/Norris and then maybe Harvey/Norris...so being that I got Moncova for his pick...I still got Harvey who I initially wanted (Harvey).... and clearly overpaid a bit for right now. Ultimately I think it "looks" 1 sided, but I honestly got the blazers pick in the first place by taking on westbrook a few seasons back, so technically I got Harvey for westbrook with sending some extra stuff added in by the time we were finished. Everett played solid for me and Moncova did too, but I think adding Harvey at SG with his low foul rate MIGHT allow me to play Nyaba and his low foul rate, HOPEFULLY solving my starting 5 foul problems and in looking at last sim every game I lost was a game where we fouled WAY too much, more than our opponents. Let the hate begin!!!

Re: Trade: Oklahoma City and Portland
Goulet, you are just digging your hole deeper. Harvey is not controllable without a lot a high usage players around him.

Now should I have traded Moncova/Everett for other things..... thats surely a legit opinion, but I've always wanted Harvey so now I can see what I can do with him....and can always flip him if need be. I mean Diss had fun with Cloth/Harvey.... I now have a lineup with Yoruba/Harvey and also Nyaba...and if his foul rate is indeed low, that should be fun.

Re: Trade: Oklahoma City and Portland
It's funny how everyone thinks Harvey is a guy who can carry teams now.

Clearly I wasn't winning with a balanced lineup, the lack of a TRUE stud at PF/C def hurts... Moncova was close, but def not on par with all the other All-star caliber players. I personally think I upgrade SG here, more than I will lose out at C here if that makes sense....Everett was inefficient and didnt give me much other than threes and 1-9s on defense. Moncova wasn't nec foul prone, but still had probs at times where he's a 17/10 type guy that shoots 47%. Am I better....maybe, and maybe I'm worse, but I'm def not expecting Harvey to CARRY us. He's just my starting SG ....and ultimately he has a lower foul rate than Moncova and thats what I wanted here.

Re: Trade: Oklahoma City and Portland
exactly.... my team was already inefficient BUT was fouling too much. Everett wasn't really the problem, but we're not gonna be THAT much more inefficient WITH Harvey compared to Everett/Moncova and the other things Harvey does MIGHT help us.... that was my point.
IF I was trying to be more efficient I'd naturally have wanted a guy like Gilchrist over Harvey, but that wasn't possible. Ozer is crazy efficient despite his TO's and low 1-9s so having a guy like Harvey out there for upwards of 40 MPG should help Ozer out on the defensive end. WITH guys like Everett/Moncova/Keisel, we were still shooting upwards 46% for the season, which is not that bad. HOW bad will it dip WITH Harvey.... hopefully not TOO much compared to what he might also help us with defensively, esp against 3 pt shooting. I DEF won't be surprised if we are a worse team, BUT if this solves some of my foul trouble, I'm very interested to see how that plays out. I had considered this before the season when Diss got Harvey and it was discussed, so aside from even thinking about Moncova/Everett, I was moreso thinking about how he'd do with who I already had, and thats pretty much who I have now anyways.

Re: Trade: Oklahoma City and Portland
Maybe...JUST maybe neither of those picks are that good....
but somehow I have a feeling Omer ends up happy here. (hoping the self-hate helps us out, lol)

Way to go Diss, really like the way their rotation looks after this influx of talent.

Re: Trade: Oklahoma City and Portland
I guarantee that you won't win it all with Harvey, Goulet. I tried for four years and one of those years I had Harvey/Spence/Jonathon Jones.
