Re: Trade: Oklahoma City and Orlando
Willis Joseph was a truly horrible fit for the Thunder.
I wouldn't have let him put protection on that pick, he was in a bind, you should have got more.

Re: Trade: Oklahoma City and Orlando
I wouldn't have dealt the pick without protection.
Being that he signed Junarvo I assume its still a value anyways for him being he's not using Junarvo. Joseph was fine because of his defense but I underestimated how awful he'd be offensively hence me starting Henson. Junarvo is perfect for me. I needed a low usage PG and he's got solid 1-9s and nice TO rating.

Yeah you can't protect another team's pick unless you have the same team's pick the following year.

Re: Trade: Oklahoma City and Orlando
If allowed, he'd have to give you his 2029 1st unprotected if the protection condition is met.

I don't have my 29, so it'd be my 30 or it'd be any other pick I acquire I think that's sooner? In either case I'm keeping the 30 to make good if this is allowed

Re: Trade: Oklahoma City and Orlando
To me it has to be the pick the following year. If not I can just keep trading my 1sts so the other guy never gets the pick.

Re: Trade: Oklahoma City and Orlando
You can't trade a pick if you put protection on a precious pick.
You can't put protection on somebody else pick. You can't pull a Goulet.

Re: Trade: Oklahoma City and Orlando
I don't think it should need to be the following year, but there has to be some kind of contingency put in place with an agreement on which pick is next in line if the team keeps the first pick (and then that pick should be untradeable until the other team receives their pick)
