Add in the fact that Akers is a 22 year old rookie with a skillset that basically every team in the league needs, this trade is silly. I don't really care because both teams involved are bad, but it's a really poor decision by the new owner any way you spin it.

Re: Trade: Cleveland and London
Large portion of teams does not = every single team. Nuggets start Luis Ortiz, so if they are the cornerstone of your defense I think you should rethink your strategy.
Akers would be a top 2-3 player on your roster, maybe even the best player depending on how you evaluate players.

Re: Trade: Cleveland and London
Only playing. I would love to have Akers on my team and I could easily do without Kilmartin. Still don't think it's a rape deal though, Akers still isn't that great.
It's kinda like when Duck landed the 31st pick in the draft for trading some fool Orville Grimes and KJ was all mad talking about how it was a bad deal, I was like

Re: Trade: Cleveland and London
This is a player worse than Orville Grimes and instead of getting the 31st pick it's essentially the 8th pick.

Re: Trade: Cleveland and London
Grimes had some pretty solid overall ratings years ago, didn't he lead the league in 3g% one season?
Neither are good players though, that's the point.

Re: Trade: Cleveland and London
Grimes at his peak was a better player than Killmartin is now, yes absolutely.
Killmartin is a chucker with a career shooting percentage of 37.3% from the field. He's a wing with a 2 assist, and 6's for his rebounding stats, and doesn't make any plays defensively. He doesn't even have the perk of not turning the ball over. The thing he does well he doesn't even do well, what good is he?

Re: Trade: Cleveland and London
smh at how far this has gone. My concern was mainly that the Cavs could've gotten more for Akers than they did.
Zei knows what he's talking about. Most of this thread is nonsense. |

Re: Trade: Cleveland and London
1) Akers is, at best, a 10-11 PPG, 9-10 RPG player with a good block rating, most teams would be glad to have him, but lets not overstate his value by saying he's going to be the #2 or #3 best player on any contending team. He's a solid second or third big, and like Ed Davis before him, he'll likely have a good career marked by not messing things up but not being spectacular in any way.
2) Of course he'd be the best big on my team, I have the worst team in the league. That's ****ing retarded. 3) Kilmartin has gotten better, and has his niche as either a high end bench scorer or a starter on a team with a lack of scoring who can make up for his rebounding/ast deficiencies. He's not hurting you defensively with 9-8 o-d/d-d, and generally speaking, he's a solid mid-level wing. I'm not saying it was a good move for Cleveland, but there are teams where it would be a good move.

Re: Trade: Cleveland and London
Akers putting up 8.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, with .92 steal and good for 2nd in the league 3.27 blocks on 59.3% from the field...in 26.1 minutes per game.
Kilmartain scored 23.3 ppg on 43.5% from the field, 84.9% from the free throw line, and 33.4% from the three while grabbing 1.1 rebounds .84 steals...in 35.9 minutes per game. ------ This trade looks even worse now that we have a real sample size of games to work with.
