I'm the 8th seed with 4 1st round picks in the bag over the next two years. You're the 5th seed with zero 1st round picks (before this deal anyway). We're both irrelevant while teams like the Hawks exist. I never backed off Mingwei, I straight up told you I never realised he was so bad until I took a close look at him.

But I wouldn't trade Mingwei for Ty Will. Being that bishop could help me now despite being a rental made more sense. You're saying its "one" spec, but IMO that 1 spec would have higher potential than (2) so so picks or spects. Volume picks etc don't mean anything. Getting quality talent is way more important. If you don't like Mingwei then yes you hate this trade.

Re: Trade: Memphis and Oklahoma City
SCDN: regarding the Ty will contract... IMO that's still moot.
Even if a team options off Ty Will, if that's their intention why would they pay much for a rental? And he doesn't take on any contracts. He wipes the slate clean. That was my rationale.

Re: Trade: Memphis and Oklahoma City
Let's break Mingwei down for a second.
At PF, he can't rebound, block or play any post defence. Solid prospect. At SF, he's an average rebounder, can't block a thing and doesn't play any area of D well. (6,4,5,5 ratings) So let's look at his shooting 47% 2G, not bad but given his positional limiatations, it's low end. 69% from the charity stripe, that's low for a wing player but about in line with big men. 34% from 3pt land, again low for any type of player. These ratings are even worse when you look at what he is actually producing in his 20 minutes of play 36.7% FG, 65.4% FT, 27.6% from down town. For Mingwei to be a decent prospect he would need to have SG eligibility and pray that his shooting %'s improved over time. To work at PF, he needs massive improvements in his defense, rebounding, shooting, blocking, turnovers etc. At SF, again, he needs his overall D to improve, his shooting needs to climb dramatically and his turnovers need to slow down. He's a piece of shit no matter how hard you sell him as a 'valuable prospect'.

Re: Trade: Memphis and Oklahoma City
19, smineteen.
There is no golden rule that if a player enters at 19 they will get dramatically better (which is what would need to happen for Mingwei to be anywhere relevant).

I'm sure he's happier with him being mediocre/bad right now, as it helps solidify his lotto positioning. Would I have gone another direction? Yeah, but there's nothing earth shatteringly bad here. Like your deal with the Cavs, it's probably not the most reasonable, but it's not terrible by any means. |

I have no hate for this deal, if you can get ahead, get the **** ahead, but don't be a bitch when somebody else makes something work for them and question their integrity, because that's bitch made.

Re: Trade: Memphis and Oklahoma City
Porn.... Did I win this trade, yes.
But Allrim was in a bad spot after the Mikhailov trade and the trade with you. Here he gets a prospect back and still has cap space. If he still had Mikhailov and could have made this deal work somehow then it'd clearly look better. If you remember what I stated in the podcast it's that you traded him a vet for arguably his best asset. Kilmartin doesn't become an asset for him and it was within the first 24 hours of him being in the league. Allrim at least nets an asset here. Regardless of your specific opinion, there's interest in thy player whereas with Kilmartin there's none. I obviously take advantage of allrims bad position on the trades he made not working out but he cashes in and at least gets something back. What does Cleveland have to show for losing Ken Akers?

Re: Trade: Memphis and Oklahoma City
Cleveland has massively improved as a team, have you not noticed they've now won 17 games?
Kilmartin is 25ppg worth of reasons for that. He has the ability to go off (scored 43 this season already). Kilmartin is very much better than Mingwei, you're an idiot for saying otherwise. Keep spouting and defending yourself, you still look like a hypocritical bitch ass.

Re: Trade: Memphis and Oklahoma City
I'm sure if Allrim could take it all back he'd have not made any of these trades and rebuilt from the beginning of the season.
And FWIW PP, you have his '28 pick, so you should be rooting for the rebuild and be happy if u think Mingwei is awful
