I don't get the comparison of Walker and Ortiz. Ortiz is much, much, MUCH worse than Walker. Ortiz is a notch or two above Walker in terms of being inept on defense. Meanwhile, Walker's true shooting is around 60% and Ortiz is around 35%. If Walker's percents were garbage you would be right, but you're way off.

whatever stats anyone wants to throw at this I dont believe either guy helps you win.

so my point is if you can legally start a guy like Walker over a player like clifton who I believe does MORE to help your team win at both ends than walker than you're HELPING your team lose.

Clowney/Dong or Clifton/Dong being the better duo IMO than anything walker.

I mean sheesh if this team actually enters "win now" mode and walkers starting..lets see how that pans out. I have a feeling it lasts shorter than even nooby thinks.

The point I'm making about the stats is that Walker is better a by long shot compared to Ortiz. I think Walker's defense cancels out most of what he brings for offense, but he is by no means detrimental to his team like Ortiz.

And regardless, when the rule was implemented I believe KJ mentioned how APER would factor into whether it would be unethical to bench said player. Given that Walker is top 5 or so for PGs in the league, Walker would meet KJ's requirement.

The big thing here is, we can't make him bench Clowney or Walker. Doing so would put us on a very slippery slope. I trust KJ's judgement in making a decision on the matter.

Pondston is a different matter though and I look forward to KJ chiming in about it.

I'm not on the "Walker = tanking" train that Goulet's on, but Walker + Pondston certainly qualifies. I feel like Walker is a nice offset for having a guy like Phillips in the lineup who doesn't do much of anything on offense but defends and rebounds like crazy. That at least is logical, it's a balanced approach even if it might not be the best one. I'm not interested in dictating to guys what their lineup should be, and there should be room for guys to try lineups and settings if they think they're going to help.

As for the Nuggets, well, I've given them and the Hornets some leeway that's likely to be up at the end of this season. I think kevinblazer is done with Ortiz when his contract ends, and Gary23 should improve by default after adding a big in the draft or FA. The DC nonsense is likely to be dealt with in the offseason, I might add some specifics to the no tanking rule.

Ah, I didn't read all the stuff that came before this so maybe I misunderstood.

The Nuggets did also start to win more once Ortiz got injured from what I remember .

All I'm saying is that whether you guys are right or wrong about Nooby, I can understand why he feels singled out for getting more attention than other guys that are "experimenting with lineups".
