Re: Trade: Boston and Houston
Like this trade a ton for the Rockets, it's a step backwards for the Celtics. You could have remained bad and still kept Xerxes, now you have no franchise player. Jude Parker is not a franchise player, and he's not going to be either. Low field goal percentage, turns it over too much, average defensively, can't shoot a three to save his life, no positional flexibility. He's A guy, whereas Xerxes is THE guy.
Duck gets a new cornerstone player to build around, and I expect his team to have a rise for the rest of this season (probably still miss the playoffs though), but should definitely be fighting for a playoff spot next year as they continue to build around the monster that is Xerxes Khoroushi.

Re: Trade: Boston and Houston
Just wanting to switch it up. Not all about winning anymore. Like Jude a lot. Never have had a swingman with his skills. And I really like Mikhailov. He's very underrated.

Re: Trade: Boston and Houston
Going into uncharted territory. I will have to build through FA.

Excited to see a motivated Duck with Xerxes. Happy that seacrest is back.
Good shit.

Re: Trade: Boston and Houston
Honestly part of my reason for agreeing to trade Xerxes was that the other GM was Duck. I was getting bored of having Xerxes as my franchise guy and I tried building around him and even tho I had a few successful seasons(one with 60 wins) I couldn't get it done in the playoffs and wanted to start over.
Duck is one of the best GMs around and I'm very interested to see how he builds his team around Xerxes. (It also helps he had the right pieces I was looking for and was willing to part with them. You'd be surprised at how many GMs weren't willing to give up certain guys for Xerxes.) |

Re: Trade: Boston and Houston
I think you guys have way too high expectations haha. I'm gonna need a couple seasons of acquiring talent before I can make a move. Took me 2-3 seasons to get another go to player after Dwight. There aren't any real prizes in FA the year right?

Re: Trade: Boston and Houston
^ You've never had a go to guy other than Dwight.
I have no expectations other than complete failure. Feel better?

Re: Trade: Boston and Houston
I just like watching how other GMs build teams. I know you're one the few who's willing to take chances to win a championship. Unlike some guys who just try to ride out a shit team for five-six seasons until they have a group of good young guys.
Caramel Love and Freddy Childs are both FAs this offseason. I'm pretty sure I'll hage enough room for a max deal even after all these moves I've made(assuming I drop Claibourne and Rory, which would only add to the FA crop). |

Re: Trade: Boston and Houston
A lot of people going to be going at it in FA this year, I've got 55+M in cap this offseason, and I guarantee everyone makes an offer on Caramel.
