Re: Trade: Atlanta and LA Clippers
That is a lot of money changing hands.
End of an era part 2 for the Hawks. Memphis X tries to occupy all 8 playoff seeds at different times this year.

Re: Trade: Atlanta and LA Clippers
Cheikh gives me a young wing prospect who does a lot of highly coveted things, frees up a large chunk of cap space, and nabs me another 1st round pick. I will really miss having Frank, he's extremely underrated. People lose all perspective on things once a player turns 30, it's a little silly. I did think this was proper value for him though, I appreciated the straightforwardness while dealing with X. I wish him the best of luck come playoff time, regardless of the fact I own his pick. Having Weiland and Ty Will, while also keeping Torre and Jeremy James, will be a major boon for him in the postseason. Frank will give him an X-Factor against all of the elite big men out West.

Re: Trade: Atlanta and LA Clippers
Didn't want to deal Senghor in a dump and was just not going to get in good lottery position without bullshitting. Even with the no tanking rule, there are to many teams not even trying to win in hopes of building the mythical dynasty. So we will try to up our franchise profile for future free agents. Not expecting a title but the league is wide open and not really understanding all these teams with good parts not trying to get a title.

Re: Trade: Atlanta and LA Clippers
As people before me said, era pretty much officially ends for the Hawks. Also, Memphis is entertaining as hell....I never know what the Clippers are going to do.

Some of the offers owners turned down were crazy even though I know some of my offers were out there also. So now I have to hope that one of my 2030 picks pan out (Blazers/Thunder). Even with the Bulls being the favorites, I think any team that makes the playoffs has chance to win it all.

Re: Trade: Atlanta and LA Clippers
I love Weiland. I was so close to acquiring him from Duck for Spence way back when, until BJ swooped in and he decided he prefered Lebron. I knew one of Opoku, Sandow, or Andrews would have had to be the main piece going back, and I want to try to win with that core.

Re: Trade: Atlanta and LA Clippers
I was not referring to you, I can totally see why you weren't interested. That was just a feeler since I had almost the exact pieces you were requesting in your TB.

Re: Trade: Atlanta and LA Clippers
The era ended in Atlanta once they lost Caramel... they weren't going to be good this season. I guss X taking back Tyrone was the big factor for BJ , just an awful contract that is.

Re: Trade: Atlanta and LA Clippers
Don't be so dramatic, having a 21 mil expiring next season will be a valuable asset. The fact he's a quality player as well makes it even more bearable.

Ty Will is a quality player but has no place on my roster in the longterm, so he was moved for assets that are. That gives no context on the quality of player he is whatsoever. He's putting up really solid numbers this season, and he just got plugged in as a starter for his new team who you just implied will be a playoff caliber squad. This stuff isn't rocket science, but you're oversimplifying everything big time. Cap flexibility has more value to my franchise than Ty Will does at this stage, but clearly Ty Will has more value than cap flexibility for X's franchise. The fact that he will be a gigantic expiring next season while also being a useful player makes the contract very manageable.
