I read this along time ago in a Sports illustrated for kids, some of you may know it and others may not.

Do you ever wonder why away jerseys are always dark and home jerseys are always light?

Along time ago when baseball was first started being played proffesionally teams would get dirty sliding to the bases etc. Well if you are on a road trip and your uniform gets dirty what would you do then? Your team doesn't have more than one jersey for you and you can't use a laundry machine until you return home. If you were wearing a light coloured shirt the dirt would show up more? So teams decided that they would wear a dark coloured jersey so that the dirt wouldn't show up as well.

now, i don't get it how the whole "teams with 3 different color jerseys" works. like, the nets have a white jersey (obviously for home games), a grey one, and a blue one. i guess i miust be slow, but why do they have 2 different away jerseys?

The main reason for the third jersey is well $$$$ the NBA enjoys money and therefore the more products they have out there the more money they can make so they came up with the "3rd" jersey...I believe the NFL is now the only league that doesn't have a 3rd jersey. Although not all teams in the NBA, MLB, and NHL have third jerseys.

I think when their home they should wear White, when their away on the eastcoast they should wear Grey, and they when their one the West Coast they should wear Blue. Sounds good to me.
