A way to improve the Clippers
Sacramento trades: PG Mike Bibby (18.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 5.4 apg in 36.4 minutes)
PF Darius Songaila (4.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 0.7 apg in 13.4 minutes)
Sacramento receives: PF Elton Brand (20.0 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 3.3 apg in 38.8 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -3.0 ppg, +3.8 rpg, and -2.8 apg.
L.A. Clippers trades: PF Elton Brand (20.0 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 3.3 apg in 38.8 minutes)
L.A. Clippers receives: PG Mike Bibby (18.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 5.4 apg in 82 games)
PF Darius Songaila (4.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 0.7 apg in 73 games)
Change in team outlook: +3.0 ppg, -3.8 rpg, and +2.8 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
Due to Sacramento being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Sacramento had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This deal leaves them with a team similar to something like this.
PG - Mike Bibby/Shaun Livingston (No.2)/Eddie House
SG - Quentin Richardson/Marko Jaric/Richie Frahm (FA)
SF - Corey Maggette/Toni Kukoc (FA)
PF - Chris Wilcox/Darius Songaila
C - Chris Kaman/Melvin Ely/Peja Drobnjak
Now losing Brand hurts, but in Bibby you have a legit PG who might lead the league in assists. Q and Maggette would be so much better with a true PG to actually get them the ball. Plus Songaila is a hustle player who goes hard for boards and can score. Wilcox is ready to bust out and this team should compete for a playoff spot.
This leaves the Kings looking like this.
Sacramento Kings
PG - Bobby Jackson/Damon Jones (FA)
SG - Doug Christie/Anthony Peeler /Kevin Martin (No. 26)
SF - Peja Stojakovic/Hedo Turkoglu (FA)
PF - Elton Brand/Brad Miller
C - Chris Webber/Vlade Divac (re-signed)
This makes the Kings a better team because they acquire a legit post presence in Elton Brand and makes the Clippers better because they need a legit floor general to make them a better team.

If the Clippers do that I don't think they will draft Livingson they will draft Howard or Okafor if he's available
PG - Mike Bibby
SG - Quentin Richardson
SF - Corey Maggette
PF - Howard
C - Chris Kaman
V.S.
PG - Mike Bibby
SG - Quentin Richardson
SF - Corey Maggette
PF - Chris Wilcox
C - Chris Kaman
I think the first one is better

Did you watch Chris Wilcox near the end of the season? He was really coming on. You would start Dwight Howard as a HS player over Chris Wilcox who is ready to play 30+ minutes a game right now?

The Kings would be too loaded up at PF: Webber, Brand, Miller
All three can have starting positions on other teams, don't see enough playing time for each one.

Webber plays 32 minutes, Brand plays 34 minutes and Miller plays the rest (30). Divac plays sporadically and is saved in case of injury, which with the Kings always happens.

Miller can start at center and Brand can play some there too. He did when Wilcox started iirc.
I like this idea actually and it makes sense because the Kings had Christie and Peeler take up the ball a lot during the season. They rebulk in the middle.

Does it really matter on defense? He can defend C's or Brand/Miller or Divac could.
On Offense, could you defend a team with Brand on the block and Webber/Miller or Divac on the high post.
The Clippers need to think playoffs, while the Kings need to think title.

Webber at C? Ugh...
Other than that, I like the trade.

No thanks. Brand can't be had for the likes of Bibby. You're forgeting the trade kicker in his contract. Even if Elgin wanted to, Sterling would reject it.
