Just thought of this now. Obviously plan a is to get kobe. Plan be is to resign Q, and possibly miles as well. However, what about plan C? Why now sign Q, and then give an offer to walton that the lakers wouldnt match? (i dont see the lakers matching a decent offer, after resigning kobe, and them having george and rush already...)

Why walton? Well, remember, sterling is about making money. Luke walton is a fan favorite. He will sell jerseys as well. Also, i think his family would be cool with it. His dad WAS a clipper, and he owes his fat broadcasting contract now to all the years he was the clippers color man, getting over his speach impediments.

Walton i like, because hes a tall small forward, and could even play the 2 at times. His passing is almost unparalleled for someone his size. If the clippers have q and magette starting, id like to see walton and simmons backing them up.

Another option would be even if they get kobe, to try to sign him for whatever they have left..

Walton is under contract for another season with the Lakers.

While I wouldnt mind having him on the team, there is no chance of it. The Lakers would match any reasonably deal for him. And, Walton hasn't done jack in the league to demand more than a mill or mill and a half a year. The Lakers would easily match that, and if we offered any more, it'd be a poor move on our part.
